God created everything visible and invisible through his word. That word is Jesus.

Words are generated from the source (not created) , and possesses all the quality from the source.

Let me explain with something easier. When the sun shines on us, we feel the heat from it, don't we? The ray of the sun hitting us makes us sweat. This ray is generated not created. And when something is generated from the source, it possesses everything the source possess.

God didn't create Jesus. Jesus was generated from God (source). And possesses everything God possess.

That is why he is called Son of God.
That title is not the same thing as what we know when women gives birth here on earth

I know my illustration maybe faulty, I acknowledge that, but it still make the point that they are one and equal. But your idea of the father is always greater than the son disapprove of their equality which makes them no longer one.
Another illustration, a husband and wife, we know they are equal yet they function in different roles and hence the wife is to be in submission to the husband in full authority but no one is superior than the other because they are one flesh(equal). Again the best I can come up with.
The “greatness” spoken, could relate to their role not essence.
