Is there report of closeness between Isaac n Jacob?
Yes! Genesis 28 shows it especially as Esau disobeyed.

But this is a change of post.

Aemmyjah:
There was no REPORT that Moses and Joshua were close.
You sef?
Joshua was Moses attendant
You want to compare an attendant with one's son?
See how you ridicule yourself, all because you are trying to desperately defend a lie.

Gehazi was an attendant and a servant to Elisha but clearly he was not close to him unlike, Joshua, who passionately followed Moses everywhere, even up the mountain which NO ONE UNWORTHY COULD FOLLOW, EVEN UP TO THE POINT THAT GOD MADE HIM TO TAKE OVER FROM MOSES.

You guys have no thing valid to say, just rest!

Aemmyjah:
Mention one person in the Bible that says he was not close to his father?
Not my brief but I don't think Saul and Jonathan were close, but as I said, not my brief, so off point.

Max, pls come and treat this guy

According to the Bible, who did Isaac love more? Esau or Jacob?

How will you have an attendant without being close to him? You don de reason backwards like atheists. The only problem with Gehazi was that he cultivated greed. How will such a person take over from Elisha when he's gone?

Moses and Joshua... Joseph and Jesus... Are you sure you're ok? It is like comparing Davido and Ifeanyi to Buhari and Osinbajo.

Saul and Jonathan were very close. They died on the same day for the same cause. The only problem was faith. Both knew that Jehovah had anointed David to become King and Jonathan was willing to accept it even though it will affect his prospect to become future King after Saul. Saul had no Faith and wanted to kill David so that the royal line will continue in his family as if he got kingship from his Father. Seeing that Jonathan chose to help and defend David is what made him mad. Besides that, they were close even till death.

You better repent and stop fighting what you ought to be teach yourself

He's one of those arrogant churchgoers who often feel like he's relevant but i always cut him off my mention because of his attitude if you proved to be more knowledgeable than him the next thing is cursing and insulting you.

Nobody has ever commended him for his comments so he opened three accounts using it interchangeably to commend himself but after he was discovered by other Nairalanders he stopped using the other two accounts.

So i always ignore him but then he often come quoting me seeking attention! smiley

Will you also tell me that Zechariah and Elizabeth were not close to John? The Bible did not mention their closeness

Comparing the relationship of an old man and his attendant to that of a Father and son

If Jehovah himself called Joseph a righteous man and see all the troubles Joseph passed through to save Jesus life, will it make sense to you that he will not be close to his son and teach him the laws of Moses and Jehovah commanded all israelites fathers. Remember that Jesus had atleast 6 siblings and nothing much is spoken about them. Does that mean that joseph was also not close to them?

According to truthspeaker
A man and his attendant has a very close relationship than that of a righteous man who was the foster father to the son of God
Ask him for proof
He has none

We have all seen when a man and his attendant is close and when they are not close.

We have all seen when a father and son is close and when they are not close.

The omenous silence and absence of Joseph around Jesus can not be missed. Mary was specifically mentioned and identified periodically being around and near Jesus BUT NOT JOSEPH.

As you jws are devils it is not beyond you people to add to the Bible after all you have even removed from it.

Apart from you, who else have said that Jesus and Joseph were not close?
You de read back of Bible
Likely his father died

How would Jesus have learned to be a carpenter?

I was first here to point out that Jesus was talking and teaching us about The Commandment

I was the first here to say that The Commandment was the constitution of Israel.

I was the first here to say and show that God was very much happy with Job that He used him to boast and challenge Satan.

And even recently, I was the first to point out that God was the First to free slaves and never supported slavery. (And on this one no one anywhere has ever said it)

So, it is not unusual that I am the first, for I love observing things and I have seen and observed that every year something new jumps at me from the Bible, so i study more and more, and argue more and more, to see what new thing may come out.

You're getting to know why most religionists are running away from God's organization.
They don't want to agree on anything yet they want to force their opinion on others.
If you ask this person what is the name of his church where himself and his fellow believers share the same line of thought on this matter he will tell you the church is of no need but then he's here typing what he feels expecting others to take it from him then when it comes to agreement so that they can act on what they agreed upon he shies away. undecided

YES you have to study the Bible but you must not do so alone because Jesus Christ the one who supposed to help you understand what you're reading won't come unless you're with another person making two or three studying the Bible together! Matthew 18:20

Personal study of the Bible only works after an individual has been preached to, taught and baptized into the group. Matthew 28:19-20
That's why the Ethiopian Eunuch begged Philip to explain what he is reading in the Bible, he need the guidance of a member of the group to TEACH him so that he is baptized into the group. Act 8:26-36 compare to Act 18:24-26

Ok so the bible should only be studied by baptized Christians?
The verses you quoted says nothing about when one is allowed to read the bible by himself.

Apollos has been baptized by John but since he's not baptized into the group of Christ he couldn't grasp the scriptures like baptized Christians!

Secondly, are you saying that all baptized people understand everything in the scriptures?

Baptism comes when the individual grasp the purpose of the Christ so before a person is qualified for baptism he must have known what the God of Abraham did and the things He is doing presently, what role the Christ will play in the salvation of mankind and what part the Holy Spirit will play that's what Jesus meant when he said "baptized them in the name of the father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" {Matthew 28:19} so a person who has no knowledge of these three is not qualified for baptism.

After baptism a Christian knows that the God of Israel will not speak to him in person due to what the God of Abraham said about the chosen nation, he knows that Christ doesn't have a personal relationship with individuals rather Christ only comes in the gathering of his anointed brothers (BORN AGAIN) he knows that if he doesn't understand something in the Bible he must wait until God's Holy Spirit reveal it to the anointed brothers of Christ who will in turn teach the congregation.
That's why Jesus said "teach them" Matthew 28:20 compare to Hebrew 13:7, 17

So if anyone feels like understanding the Bible in isolation he won't find any group where what he thinks he knows will work that's why such a person can't work with any congregation as One Body! John 17:22

There is only one truth, but many lies. What is the truth? The truth is Jesus Christ the son of God. Believe in Him and you will dwell in the truth.

Your Bible is not the Truth as that book contains what are the accounts of men and of Satan, the father of lies. Instead, Jesus Christ, the Word of God, is the Truth of God and His Gospel is God's New Law and Constitution in God's Special Nation of Priests aka the Kingdom of God which all who follow Him are called to live by. undecided

Christ ATTACKED Paul not visit, the young man has a sincere heart for pure worship {Galatians 1:14} as he was trained by a Pharisee known as Gamaliel who was highly respected by all the Jews {Act 5:34; 22:3} with such a fine background Paul wasn't fighting out of spite but thought he's fighting a just course. That's why Jesus attacked him but he told him to go and meet a member of Christ's group so that they can open his eyes {Act 9:12} and teach him Christianity! Act 9:6

So Paul became a Christian after he has been instructed by members of the group but since he was a studious Jew back in Judaism who knew much more than all the disciples of Jesus regarding the scriptures he was quick to know better than them now that he is now a baptized Christian studying the Bible through the lense of Christianity unlike what he was taught to believe back in Judaism.
That's why Jesus chose him for the great work of being the Apostle of all other nations! Act 9:15
The twelve apostles are to stay in Jerusalem as apostles for the Jews but Paul is the one Christ chose to connect the gentiles to himself! Galatians 2:7; 1Timothy 2:7
Therefore if any person from any nation thinks he could understand Christianity without studying Paul's letters thoroughly such a person is deceiving himself!

You can call paul's visit an attack or whatever but it does not stop it from being a visit. He was even given instructions.
Now you say Paul knew more than other disciples because he was a studious jew, this destroys your point that you need to be a born again or a member of a specific group to study the scriptures.

Again many of the early Christians did not need to study Paul's letters to become born again. Cornelius never needed Paul's letters.
Again Christ did not choose Paul to connect with the world, he chose all the 12 Apostles.
Even before Paul became a Christian, he instructed them to go into the world and preach to all creatures.

Paul knew much more than all the disciples of Jesus before he became a Christian the problem he had was the same problem all his teachers in Judaism had which is identifying who the Christ the scriptures they've dedicated all their lives to study proved to be!
To illustrate it's like someone who studies a map and knew so much because that's what his faculty have been studying for centuries but on getting to the place where the map was drawn out he couldn't figure out that he's now where he has been studying about all his life. Let's say someone now told him that he is now in the exact place do you think people living there will understand the place better than him?
Paul and all his teachers have studied the scriptures for centuries but when the Messiah arrived they fail to recognize him so when the Christ now proved to Paul through attacking him from the sky Paul was fully convinced that the same Jesus his teachers in Judaism killed has risen from the dead just as the scriptures said and he's now alive as the promised Messiah! So none of Jesus' disciples who were fishermen and from other fields can teach the scriptures to prove that Jesus is the Christ like Paul! Act 17:1-3

The early Christians who first became born again were all Jews {Act 2:7} so they knew from what the Pharisees has taught them before John baptized Jesus so when Jesus started his ministry they could correlate all what their religious leaders taught them {Matthew 23:2-3} to know that this young man called "Jesus" is the Christ so most of them that remained with the group only awaits the promise of their God based on the command Jesus gave them to stay together {Act 1:8; 2:1} so for these Jews to obey the words of Christ the true God blessed their union by fulfilling His promises which He made to their forefathers! Joel 2:28; Act 2:16-18

Oga a few things here.
First from what you have said, it shows the merits of studying the scriptures even before conversation. If Paul had not studied the scriptures before his conversation he would not have become as good as you say he was.
Next the early Christians were not all Jews. I gave you the example of Cornelius and his entire family.
Again, Paul was on his way to Attack the church in Antioch when he was converted. Antioch was not a Jewish city. That tells you that even before the call of Paul, the Gospel was being spread to non Jewish nations.

You also forget that on the day of pentecost, the apostles preached in different languages because they were not preaching to just Jews.
So again, you are wrong.
Lastly, how do you know that your brothers who taught you are not wrong.
