Sometimes when I read comments of people on nairaland with their use of degrading choice of words to describe Igbos that resides in Lagos state,I am convinced that these people are either not the actual peaceful and loving Yoruba people they claim,or they might be some bad eggs among the yorubas.Having been brutalised and trampled upon by years of corrupt and bad government, their mental abilities had been so compromised to an extreme state that they are already suffering from a crude form of mental illness unknown to them. A tribe is a peaceful social structure but tribalism is nothing but a constant warlike structure engaged in a chronic battle that only brings destruction and poverty to those that started it first.those adding the petrol to fire on this battle of tribalism in Nigeria are of two class i)The evil rulers benefiting from it.their families are usually overseas living among other accomodating people and benefiting from their developed society ii) The brainwashed poor masses suffering from it. If u feel are in the opinion of tribalism and hate other tribes,u have a serious problem because there is beauty in diversity.Even in developed nations, their citizens still take tourism trips to Africa and vice versa. No man is an island of himself. Most misguided fellows argue that Igbos are dragging Lagos with them,This is a serious contrast from culture of accommodation yorubas are known for.If u hate Igbos in your state,or you don't see beauty in diversity of others that are not from your tribe.U are automatically a barbarian that will equally hate other tribes doing well in your state and environment and inturn that hate develops into destructive instincts and bring generational doom to perpetrators. Don't support and be a tool used to spread tribalistic attacks, all humans tribes have their strength and weakness and only true love can heal and strengthen the weak spots we all have to become a modern human. |

PaNnamdi:Is this what you called in-depth analysis? well I agree that English is not your mother tongue so the wrong usage of words can be ignored. But tell me, why do you think Yoruba picks only Igbo out of many tribes that reside in Lagos if not that your people have overstepped their boundary with foolish words such as "Lagos is no man's land,? |

Ttalk:Lagos is a cosmopolitan city developed not by the Yorubas but by all and sundry like the Europeans, Asians, Africans, Nigerians and others. It's not Ibadan or Abeokuta that has 60 percent input of it's development made possible by the Yorubas. It's the arrogance of some of you Yorubas that gives rise to the no mans land connotation. Lagos is in the SW but was not built by the Yorubas. London also is a cosmopolitan City with many Yorubas living there. They have not been disenfranchised for once during elections, but the reverse is the case in Lagos where people who live there are not only disenfranchised through the use Political oafs, thugs urchins, but prevented from making input in the running of affairs that concerns them. The actions of some Yorubas like you breeds the response you get from not only the Igbos but from other ethnic nationality who reside there. Yorubas like you are not only timid, backward and anachronistic but unexposed. Many Yorubas I know are civilized and not clothed in the oversized tribal garment you want everyone to acknowledge. Most unsuccessful never do good persons like you, are the ones polluting the entire space chanting Tiwani As far as Nigeria remains one indivisible county, you will never have the Yorubanized Lagos of your dream where non natives are seen as goose that lays the eggs and the indigenous people the snakes that feed on them. |
