Funny enough, The ivory coast you talked about is mainly dependent on agriculture. Their roads àre so sweet and their police and immigration are very good too. Many African countries have left us behind when it comes to good life and good governance.

I tell you something if the citizens are bad the country will never develop... Same is happening in Nigeria... The so called citizens are the extension of the political class...
Watch just for laugh gags on utube and I watched where they prank people to watch over so much money in briefcase and none ran away with case... Now try that in Nigeria with the citizens and see what happens.

How many people are in bene republic again?

If Nigeria was just like eg Ebonyi, small, maybe 5 million people, it will be very easy to govern.

Don’t be comparing 5million people to 250 million people. Over 300 ethnic groups. Over 500 languages. Oboy, incomparable.

You have a point bro

Nigeria is like America. The average citizens may be rich, but the quality of their life is very poor. Because no matter how rich a person is , your wealth can't change the strength of your passport.

It can't suddenly make the streets and road look like wakanda, and an angry soldier can slap you. Then you see how useles money becomes in the face of existential problems.

For me, what qualifiea a good country is peace, safety, security, stable electricity, passable infrastructure, and less corruption. Ivory Coast and lots of ecowas country score high.

Naija really cast. I mean, just give the basics, make e be say na to develop remain. But no. The country still punish citizens in spite of their suffering. Na wa
You are right, Rwanda, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Botswana, Namibia, Swaziland also fit into your narrative above, Nigeria in my opinion don cast and I think it is beyond Redemption, that is why I choose to become a permanent visitor to the country, everything in Nigeria na wahala and Nigeria has 1000 ways to die or 1000 ways of death for her citizens, look at the recent charade called Fraudulent election and look at the currency exchange confusion that has brought terrible sufferings to Nigerians, which kind wahala country be Nigeria sef angry

True.

I still don't understand why Nigerians won't explore other African countries. They are good. Also if I'm a young man with no wife and kids, I'll just move. This is the only time I'll be free.

And a golden opportunity to have another nationality through marriage to a local, so my kids will grow up sane, in a peaceful country and possibly multilingual with maybe French.

This is the best time to leave and build yourself up in a safe and secured environment. The diasporians should follow to have a retired life in a safe environment.

For those into some skill works like Motor Mechanics, tailoring, hairdressings, etc u may not be able to operate here legally without being in their various unions and getting their diploma certificate which probably comes from the government via ur boss. This permits u to operate legally here but when gotten and u package ur biz a little, u will get influx of apprentice coming to learn from u wit good pay as reg fee.

They really pay attention to their skill jobs which is nice.

Thanks so much for this update, please what of other skills like phone and computer technicians do they have to do the same before working legally?

For real? A country that's highly underated even more than Congo. And for the fact that Nigeria, the so called giant of Africa supports them with electricity makes Nigeria more ridiculous. What a shame?

Nigeria is blessed but cursed with bad leaders. It pains me that other African have really left us behind.

Right now china engineers are building cement and tiles factory at badaguichiri ,refinery at tawa, what more.... dem get gold at niamey.

The OP stated the truth. I lived there from 2016-2020 and taught in a bilingual school, after my diploma in the French language. I still miss the life there, especially the night life. cheesy

I hope to go back with my family. Cost of living/rent might be high but security, amenities and infrastructure dey. Just have the money.

Their people too can be friendly to foreigners especially Nigerians. I keep contact till this day with most of them, not just to keep my French knowledge going, but, who knows, in case I find myself back there or I need anything from them.

Please, I just started learning French because I'm preparing for japa, but I don't have anyone to communicate to in French.
Can we be chatting and learning French from you?

You see am? In my next generation, I shouldn't be a Nigerian, abeg!
Sure! You're very right about your first sentence. I really don't know if it is a generational curse, all of them have the primary mentally of amassing wealth at the expense of the government's treasury and the people's welfare. I think they lack insight and purpose for which they're occupying elective posts!

Nic done. Like how much can one budget for such movement if one decides to visit?
I went there on a student trip,so I guesss our budget should differ! And I want buy bus,I paid some amount and it covered all expense except feeding! But I know with less than 50k you can get there by bus..I don’t even have an international passport yet,I used the ECOWAS passport ! If you go to a local restaurant, food it’s relatively cheap only their drinks are costly! Food stuff is cheap too…I’ll advise you to go for Foodstuffs and use Hotplate to cook, since the power is steady there! Data is a kinda expensive as I got 4Gb for 4K Cefas but It lasts than Nigerian Data sha! People ride Bike a lot there sha and they like Ankara lol
