fabyom:
We have the midfield to compete at African level. I don't see any team in Africa with better midfield combinations. Maybe 1 or 2.
Iwobi, Nwakali, Onyeka, Ndidi, Onyedika, Etebo, Bonke, Kingsley Michael will start for most teams in Africa! I don't understand the complain!
the complain na because nwakali no Dey the team 🀣

Once em join the team everything go nice πŸ₯ΊπŸ€£

Victor Boniface is my type of striker. Robust, physical and technical. You just can't bully him off the ball.

Well, Osimhen makes up for that with his speed and agility. Which Boniface seems to lack.

Never played for Nigeria at U17 or U20 level, Star of the week, Gift Orban has had a meteoric rise since beginning his career in Europe in 2022.

The 20-year old is already making a name for himself in Belgium after outgrowing the Norwegian scene in barely one year.

Boniface is tailor made for the epl, with a bit of pace he will be tough for defenders in the epl to stop

He holds onto the ball unnecessarily, in a competitive league like EPL, Italian or German leagues, he will frustrate his team mates.
Good prospect though

that will be coached out from him when he moves to be bigger league

He is naturally talented and will metamorphose to a monster under the right tutelage in a bigger league

He has the height, body mass and technicality to bully defenders, and is a decent finisher too...
He and Orban should move to a bigger league soon...

Seems like FIFA have decided to go ahead with 12 groups of 4 teams for the 2026 world cup .

Top 2 teams in each group and 8 best third placed teams will qualify for the round of 32.

CAF still yet to draw up a qualifying format for the Africa qualifiers

The point I am trying to make is that Yekini and Boniface have similar physique so Boniface could still be fast too if Yekini was fast despite his build.

He was invited but couldn't honor the invite and wasn't eventually part of the WC team maybe still due to injury.

Imagine having this array of forwards and one coach will be saying we are a very young team. Put all of them inside the squad and don't beef up your midfield and watch all of them run around like headless chicken.

There are still a few others who are either not in form or are playing in lower leagues like:
Dennis
Success
Usor
Ejuke
Maja

No doubt, we have the deepest pool of forward on the continent right now ..

Definitely true.. That midfield needs fixing.. to me,it isn't the lack of players in midfield that's the problem...it is the selection...
