Peoples Democratic Party in Cross River says endorsement of its governorship candidate, Sandy Onor, by Peter Obi attests to the candidate’s pedigree as a man of the people.

PDP chairman in the state, Venatius Ikem, said this in Calabar on Monday when he spoke with journalists about Mr Obi’s endorsement of Mr Onor for the March 18 governorship election.

Mr Obi is a Labour Party member who dumped PDP to have a chance to contest the presidential election.

During a live interview on a local TV station, Mr Obi said the Labour Party would partner some governorship candidates in some states for the polls.

“There are some states where my Party, LP, doesn’t have candidates, and we are partnering some good candidates in those states to ensure victory for them. We have good candidates in Lagos, Delta, Plateau, Nasarawa, Enugu, Abia, and a few others. But in Cross River, we have agreed to align with the PDP and its candidate, Prof Sandy Onor,” the former PDP member explained.

He added, “He is a very good candidate who enjoys strong support from the people. I urge all ‘Obidients’ in Cross River to support and cast their votes for Prof Onor, who is a current senator.”

The PDP chairman explained that Mr Obi’s endorsement of Mr Onor was a clear demonstration of the candidate’s wide acceptability by the people of Cross River.

“Obi’s endorsement didn’t come as a surprise to me. “In fact, it is an attestation of the popularity and goodwill enjoyed by our candidate in the state and beyond. It is a great value addition to our arsenal and it cannot be underestimated,” Mr Ikem explained. “With this endorsement of the ‘Obidient’ Movement’s phenomenal leader, we can now sleep with our two eyes closed knowing that the issue of governorship has been settled.”

I sincerely dislike PDP because of this endorsement.

The same guys that were bold to show us their polling unit results and how they influenced the results to deliver Atiku are now clamouring for endorsement from Obidients.

He may think he's building structure for the future but he's doing the opposite of what he claimed to stand for.
Obi is still learning and his fans need to read more history to get knowledge, know when to keep quiet. Cos some histories depicts grievous mistakes of past heroes that people should be ashamed of now. One is the rash decisions of January boys of 1966 (Igbo children need to know the mistakes of Nzeogwu) and the other is the not properly planned Biafra war by Ojukwu). Both actions brought unnecessary chaos.

It's very good to v principles.
One of the party principles for someone like Obi who's claiming to come and scatter structure, godfatherism, arrangee govt etc is to be neutral in states where his party had no candidates. Obi supporting an opposition isn't structure building but confusion. That person ll make PDP to be stronger. Then PDP find it's foot again in that state.
I dunno why he hasn't told you or one of his foot soldiers to protest or spoil govt buildings.
Dunno why all of you are still quiet. I thought by now una protests go don loud. Maybe some of you are not of your fathers or products of swapping.
