Roland17:Brother Seyi Odufejo (Have you eaten). Never heard of him after he lost the last election against Burkina On the night before the election, Brother Seyi was disqualified because his studentship was disputed saying he was a Masters student who has spent more than 18months Brother Seyi and his born again supporters now tried to force themselves into the manifesto ground and got stabbed. Some say he was hit with jazz ring. He spent a few days inHospital by the time he got out the election was over and bro Seyi faded away Read about him here https://ayooladejo.com/have-you-eaten/ |

BlueRayDick:Like you said, before even considering other factors of the case such as political instability etc, the facts of the case so far do not show an overwhelming amount of evidence that indicates that the direction of the results would have taken a different turn if all of the infractions recorded were prevented. If you have any, please share it here. A 100% perfect election can't be recorded anywhere - from transportation of voting materials, actual voting, vote counting, vote collation etc. Infact in the US, if the margin of victory in some states are less than a particular number then the total votes will have to be recounted. This means that they know themselves that the system can't be 100% reliable. The question now is that : How much of election maladministration must be recorded to require an outright cancellation of the total election results? Because even if the elections are redone again and again, infractions, rigging and violence are inevitable. So, what will make an election results acceptable in your own opinion? My grouse is that people are failing to see their shortsightedness which is the division of opposition votes or just maybe APC is not well hated enough? But then, people have the freedom to elect whoever they want. |

raumdeuter:He didn't get 25% of votes in any SW state apart from Lagos. A politician plays to his strength not to his weakness. |

Drone17:Precedence is significant when courts make ruling on issues, especially issues as sensitive as elections because the consequences can be dire. PO and his team would have to present "overwhelming" proof of any claims they are going to make to get any favorable judgement. The court, more than any other institution measures the temperature of the country. General pockets of violence, intimidation or manipulation may not be enough, it doesn't make it right but it is the truth. Also, the party that appointed the Justices of the High, Appeal and Supreme Courts will play an important role in this situation. If PO and LP are able to get a favorable judgement in the High Court, then they stand a good chance of pushing this thing all the way to the Supreme Court. However, if the High Court's judgement is unfavorable, then it makes his task more herculean because the Appeal Court usually side with the ruling of the lower court. It is a tricky one for PO but if he believes he has enough then by all means, after all, it is his right as a Citizen of the country. PO is experienced with fighting elections through the court, that should count for something. |

https://www.nairaland.com/7612633/sanwo-olu-orders-probe-pupil-sent Sanwo-Olu e don do oh! You are now reacting to pretty much everything and this is not a good look on you. Sending the student home was excessive in my opinion. The principal should have asked the student to remove the poster and take it home or confiscate the poster. Better still, the principal should have called the parents and inform them of the incident. In the principal's defense, secondary schools should not be converted to campaign grounds or places to make political statements. Junior secondary school students are not eligible voters, consequently, this is ill advised by the parents because it is capable of causing unnecessary distraction and disruption. Imagine if every junior secondary school student starts using posters of the different political parties as wraps for their books? Where does it stop? While early voter education through the academic curriculum is good, partisan politics and campaigns have no place in junior secondary schools. What do you think? |

Roland17:Sanwo Olu is bending over backwards I agree, school is not a place for partisan politics This one just reminded me of the practice of wrapping ones books in school. I wonder why we did that now 🤔 |
