As Rivers State continues to urbanise, the demand for decent housing also escalates.

According to Sir Siminalayi Fubara, the Rivers State PDP governorship candidate, New Rivers Vision's housing policy supports private sector investments in housing development to reduce the deficit.

Fubara promised to expand opportunities and incentives for individuals and real estate developers to invest in providing affordable houses for citizens.

He said this in his 37 paged manifesto; we shall:
• Provide an enabling environment for massive housing development programme through public-private partnership participation;

• Improve land acquisition and development by removing all encumbrances through reduced fees and timely approval of title documents to attract and encourage estate developers to deliver affordable housing.

• Provide housing loans for civil servants to acquire or build their own houses with flexible long-term repayment terms;

• Leverage the Federal Government to site low-cost housing schemes in the State for citizens to acquire for their families; and

• Support the Rivers State Housing and Property Development Authority to promote and invest in the development of housing
estates to serve the needs of citizens either one or in partnership with the private sector.

Lp top to bottom. The votes from Rivers would shock people. The LP Guber candidate is not popular but the peter Obi wave would carry her through another advantage she has is that most of the strong contenders are from Kalabari

In other words, no plan. How is he going to partner with the private sector to build cheap houses? Is he going to offer subsidised land and building materials? Which average income earner in the civil service can afford a house in an estate?

Leverage the FG to build low cost housing? Is this even a plan? There are 37 states in Nigeria (FCT regarded as a state here) why should Rivers be given special attention above others? And if the FG fails to agree to their plight, that's one less plan, right?

Removal of encumbrances in land acquisition is good, but how does it affect the actual cost of land? How would removing encumbrances help me get an affordable land in Peter Odili Road, for example?

This all amounts to no actual plan that would really improve housing situation in the state. As usual, everything about him is fraudulent, or laced with fraudulent intent.
