Everything in life is a risk.
I invest 150k in bitcoin some years back, I sold part of my investment just to get something like 500% return.
Mind you I've lost money through some scams before like stakexchange, cash fx and co but crypto investment cushioned the effect of the loss.
The information on those investments were gotten here on nairaland.
Previously, I bought shares in like 5 banks in those years which amounted to next to nothing compared to huge investment due to recession.

Banks are regulated but do you know how many people lost money to the banks that went under?

Bought some shares in some banks in 2008, they're currently not worth the papers in dustbin.

People got tired of bank regulation, move to crypto. There are not regulated like IRL stuff doesn't mean their is no regulation. There is law on how they source investment and other stuff. Once they make profit in crypto. They pay the tax. Yes, they can't cheat it.

"I can only watch this film in US. I can't watch this film in US" means their is a body controlling it making those laws. I agree that it will be difficult to have full hold on things but saying crypto is running without regulation is taking us back to reality of 11 years ago. Most NFT firm has IRL company now as part of utility.

Crypto people rely on bank because your average Joe is still skeptical on what crypto can offer. Pepper seller in my area won't accept sol as means of Payment. I need that liquid to interact IRL.

Crypto people do not reply on banks, seems you don't understand crypto.

Cryptocurrency is an alternative to fiat currency.

Do you understand what that means?

Do you know that countries are now creating their own Cryptocurrencies?

The available ones now can't be controlled by the governments of the world, so they need to rival the current ones by creating the one they can control.

A govt that can control the financial system can control the humans within that system either good or bad.

I hope you know the dollar is built on nothing?

Let me come to your level.

I want to believe you have multiple Sim cards/networks like MTN, Glo, Airtel, Etisalat etc.

Same with Cryptocurrency and Fiat currencies.

Both are currencies.

You do not need to close one for the other, you use them side by side, where one is deficient, you switch to the other.
