Guy stop embarrassing your self. A Soldier who negotiates anything with the enemy in war times without the authorisation of his superiors is regarded as a traitor, and traitors in military get shot. If Banjo, Ifeajuna or anyone else felt they were overwhelmed at the war front, their job is to pull back, inform their superiors and await further orders

But when a Soldier goes behind the back of his superiors, starts to negotiate with the enemy without any authorisation, that Soldier will be shot for insubordination and violation of the chain of command. Officers get shot for disobeying direct orders, to even talk of one who went to negotiate with the enemy with no authorisation

Banjo, Ifeajuna, Alale and Abam were traitors
Explain to me how you get authorization at the war front? They were at the war front. Met soldiers that would wipe the whole Biafra and negotiated a ceasefire to save lives.

What other thing could they do or you do not understand war front.

They used their familiarity with the army head, got a ceasefire. Ojukwu was to surrender because any other option will mean millions of Igbos dying.

Ojukwu refused and killed them.

There was no chance to pull back. Either surrender or die. They surrendered, negotiated a ceasefire and came back to help save lives.

Victor Banjo and Awolowo meet in Ore during the Civil war when Pa Awolowo told him to stop fighting on the side of Biafra and Victor Banjo refuse that he has promised Ojukwo that he will win on sink with him.

Biafra soldiers were one side and Nigeria soldiers were at the other, Awolowo said Banjo tẹ́lẹ̀ mi, ìbọn òní ba hó (Meaning Banjo follow me bullet won't touch you) but Banjo refused,.

After that meeting Ojukwu accused him of speaking Yoruba during the the meeting with Awolowo that he can not be trusted again and they accused him of planning to overthrow Ojukwu in Biafra they tied him to a drum and shoot him in Enugu

He was the only Yoruba general that supported Biafra they paid him with Blood because he refused to attack Ibadan and lagos which is not part of the initial agreement

Below is the picture of Victor Banjo and his family the Yoruba Man that supported Biafra and lead many of the battle's for them , but was killed his wife turned to widow, his children fatherless.

......shocking to me because Ojukwu understands Yoruba Laguage very well!
Worst still, is the fact that Colonel Banjo's grave is nowhere to be found till today. Imagine being killed by someone you mutually called your friend.
Ojukwu just wasted him for being Yoruba and N16.

He, Oju-iku repeated the same egocentric attribute of his at the kampala peace conference in Apr 1968. He refused to back down and insist on continuing with the war even though, Enugu was about to fall.

More igbo lives were lost simply because of Ojukwu's obduracy.

Colonel Banjo wasn't even among the January 1966 coup plotters, so I don't even know why he was arrested by Ironsi for speaking up against the arrest of a fellow soldier that wasn't part of the coup plotters. It was just an excuse by Ironsi to lock Banjo up because he escaped being killed during the coup. He was just lucky at first that he wasn't killed during the coup.

From the outset, Banjo was among those marked for elimination by the coup plotters because if not, why did Ironsi refused to release Banjo despite no report or account of him among the coup plotters. He was denied a trial and a fair hearing by Ironsi. And to make matters worse, Ironsi locked him up in the Eastern region when there were options to imprisoned him in Ibadan or Benin or Ore. So it's safe to say that Ironsi saw Banjo as a threat since he(Banjo) was an N16 officer commissioned in the NA. The saddest thing was that, the real coup plotters were just given a slap to the wrist by Ironsi.

This justified the reason why the coup is being called "the Igbo Coup" because the coup was just targeted at non-Igbos all in all.

Gowon also complicated matters by not ordering the release of Banjo after the July counter coup.
I hope the President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will rectify and correct all the injustice done to Colonel Victor Banjo and his family.

There is no justification to tag it an Igbo coup. It was a military action carried out by Military personnel. No one consulted millions of Igbos before carrying out the action. So why should they take the blame for it.

That is like you being blamed for the crime committed by someone in your community.

I also find it funny you expect decent leadership from Tinubu who bribed and cheated his way to office. You can't eat your cake and have it.

Ojukwu spoke Yoruba very well...he could not have killed Banjo because of that...he understood and spoke Yoruba well just like Zik!
Google is your friend...

The OP has narrated the story...with facts..if you have any contrary opinions..... let's hear yours...

Bajo Victor has been serving Ojukwu during the civil war...suddenly, he brought one Yibbo man who is far junior to Victor Banjo's army rank to come and head him....what a shame...I pity all the minority ethnic groups supporting the Yiibo people...if some of them knew what the Yiibo people did to their forefathers during the civil war.....they would pick stone and stone all these Yiibo people to. death...

Some.of these Yiibo people have quickly hidden the dark side of history during the civil war....

Col Banjo had already been acquitted by a Court Martial
Ojukwu quickly set up another Kangaroo court trial and executed Col Banjo almost immediately
Banjo was from an Ijebu Ode Royal Family and was even Ojukwu’s Senior in the Army

In the Past before Colonisation that alone would have been enough to trigger a Civil War
to execute a Prince who had been tried and acquitted?
his hometown and Clan would never accept it

Victor Banjo and his family, 1962.
Lieutenant-Colonel Victor Adebukunola Banjo, the first Nigerian Director of the Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Corps of the Nigerian Army, joined the Army in 1953 as Warrant Officer 52 and was the 16th Nigerian to be commissioned an officer.
Banjo was killed by a firing squad of Biafran soldiers acting on Biafra's Head-of-State Chukwuemeka Ojukwu's orders on September 22, 1967. He was alleged to have staged a coup plot against Ojukwu. It took a second military trib.unal judge to sentence Banjo, because Ojukwu's first military judge stated that there were not enough evidence to convict Victor Banjo of coup charges.
As he was being hit, Banjo yelled and screamed "I'm not dead yet!" with four more shots fired to ensure his death.
He left behind his Sierra Leonean wife, Taiwo and four children. He was 37.
His sister, 91-year-old Felicia Adetowun Ogunsheye is Nigeria's first female professor and consequently the first female professor of Library and Information Science in Nigeria. #History_Ville
LOL..@ the buffoonery of this struggling propagandist.

Ojukwu that spoke our yoruba language with Awo? Ojukwu that spoke better Yoruba and Hausa than he did Igbo language?

Go to Youtube and type 'Ojukwu speaking Yoruba and hear him speaking pure accentless yoruba. Go and find out why traditional yoruba musicians flocked his Nnewi hometown during his burial.

Maluu ni yin Sir.

The problem of Nigeria is 90percent do not even no the date of independent not to talk of Nigeria political history..
You are an empty skull mugu.

If Banjo did not run to the east after the coup. Abokkey soldiers would have suyanized him, the way they did other coup plotters.

I bet you have never read history book on colonial and post-independent Nigeria, even if your miserable life depends on it.

Your own is just open mouth 'waaaa' on social media without any intrinsic knowledge of the discourse.
