Ibadan is the large capital in West Africa, but the present state of development is laughable. While his administration embarked on few developmental projects like the Lekan Salami Stadium, Agbowo complex, couple of terminals, I am.afraid to say that his administration performed woefully in terms of infrastructural development. Sadly, the opposition is weak and he has the support of contented citizens to ride on. Seyi lekan si.

I am agree with you. Governors have strategically used payment of salary as campaign tool and the people keep falling for it everytime.

Then they ignore other critical sectors and when you gauge the growth of the state for decades, it seems everything just remained stagnant.

In this era of Nigeria democracy, people vote more based on sentiment. This election has shown us that people don’t neccessarily give a damn about your performance or lack of it, so far you fit into their sentiment they will vote you.

My major concern is that payment of salary is a recurrent expenditure that is unsustainable unless your match it with generation of revenues. The US is the most indebted country in the world, but also one of the most developed countries in the world. Leaders have to be creative, create opportunities, embark on infrastructural development, focus on protecting lives and assets of people. With all these, foreign direct investments as well as local investments can be achievable. But like you mentioned, stability is important for now. Oyo people can wait patiently.
