66-70 was civil war

Which was caused by military's intervention.

If the army had stayed out of politics then there would have been no civil war.

I'll rather vote Buhari for 3rd term than allow military rule.

Truth is people were already fed up of this thing we call Democracy which is why the Obidient movement gathered so much momentum.

People usually support military intervention when Democracy fails. INEC has done the unthinkable. We hear of party rigging but hardly INEC on such a grand and massive scale.

Pray that military does not take over and if the military takes over, we get a benevolent military regime.

Unfortunately there's no such thing as benevolence military unless you think a foreign military will take over probably a United Nations military

It's still the same Nigerian leaders in military and civilian, they will be as terrible as it's possible either under civilian or military

Human rights abuses are worse under Buhari now than under any military government
Students were rugged and always stood up to the Military
Ali must go under Obasanjo

SAP riots in 1989
Under Buhari It is not different from a military governmentthe ways soldiers and SHAReholder people
DSS is out of control

You must be drunk for this statement

Respectfully ask elders physically around you about military rule, infact specifically about Buhari military and they will school you

Buhari doesn't 'know book' normal normal so his own economic failures is already expected by some people

But human rights abuses, things have really changed, you think nairaland will still be alive if it's 84?

Buhari doesn't get critise much because the people who should critise him are they one who painted him as Messiah so shame can't allow them talk

The other party which is opposition that should critise are equally bad if not worse off

But at least under Buhari , you can blast him and no one gets sent to jail, or newspaper houses get closed and so forth...because democracy constrains him

If he was an actual army leader, it would have been much worse.

Plus Ali must go and the sap riots were brutally terminated.

Finally, student unionism under civillian rule has been in decline for a long time. Long before Bubu came around.
How old are you?
Please stop saying what you don't know
How was Endsars terminated
SAP riots was not brutally terminated. Students were sent home for 5 months

People do get sent to jail ,people are taken to Ask Rock to be beaten
Criminal defamation law was never used under the Military
Now it is used even by Ned Nwoko
Governors and big men have been jailing people for speech
The DSS has been disappearing people
Soldiers beat people even police,LASTMA and carry out revenge attacks with impunity e.g UNIBEN ATM Incident
Soldiers never entered university like that under the military

Army rule is not the answer.

Plus remember the student riots of 1986? How did that end?

Fela sang about the killing in Zaria which was a trigger
I do not believe it was a riot . It was mostly peaceful protests
Certainly no where on the scale of ENDSARS.
The military government tended to treat students carefully because their kids were in Nigerian universities ,from Aikhomu down

Stop talking sentimentally and foolishly
How or where did I support military rule? Evidence that
That ABU incident was a picnic compared to ENDSARS
Factually it was Mobile police not soldiers that killed the Zaria students

MY premise is that we are now more militarized with soldiers involved in direct policing more than ever before. Soldiers did not patrol or man checkpoints under military government except in the days after a coup. Now soldiers are everywhere. They have lost discipline
What happened at ATM in UNIBEN would not have happened under military rule
Also there was nothing like SARS under the Military
We have become more militarized since

Abacha, IBB and Buhari military were all terrible to the core, Marwa was never the head of state so I can't really judge him except for his Lagos administration

and can you see how they are all/mostly 'northerners'? something that is difficult to replicate in a democracy

Any one who calls the last 8 years of Buhari democracy is mistaken
You can call it civilian rule but democracy no
Brazen and repeated disregard for court orders
Forced removal of the Chief justice of Nigeria
Arrest of judges at night
DSS disappearance of citizens
DSS assault on the National assembly
SARS
FOR the first time security operatives escort citizens to AT Ms
Soldiers invaded UNIBEN on reprisal attacks
First lady kidnapped a citizen for insulting her
Igboho 's house raided in the middle of the night people killed without accountability
Same thing in Kanu s house
Many Shiites murdered
Military burning down police stations

Do not confound civilian rule of pretend elections with democracy

The last 8 years has been worse than many military regimes
Even the military obeyed the courts and many jurisprudence landmarks were established by Gani Fawehinmi under military rule

This absence of democracy is not just a federal phenomenon. It is present at state government level, even worse

These are the things that makes military take over. When there's a breakdown of law and order. When democracy fails.

In the United States NO ONE likes the national guards to step in especially when it's an internal state conflicts. Once they step in, the federal government is basically in charge of that state.

We have laws enshrined that could have arrested a lot of decay in the system but for fear of backlash and personal interests, presidents run away. A state of emergency should have been declared in many states long ago according to the constitution

There's no election in Lagos state. The results being declared from the polling units are the evil party apc results of intimidation and voters suppression. The Agberos and cultists, have taken full control of all nooks and crannies around the state.
The useless police force is helpless and redundant. This pseudo democracy or crazydemo, that we practice in this country, must end.
We need the Military to take over the country and restore sanity, as all our politicians had gone mad.
you guys have not been able to fight Agberos and thugs as you claim, and Una say Una wan lock down Nigeria on the 20th! Funny people

COALITION IS EVERYTHING.

We need Full Electronic Voting.

No Need of RAC COALITION.
Let every voting be uploaded for digital coalition devoid of human input.. This is 2023 ....Thuraya satellite phones can work in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. We should spend the billions on stress tested Japanese technologies. Not on printing ballot paper contract or paying so Many compromised INEC staff and adhoc ones.

This idea of printing billions for ballot paper for thugs to carry to thumbprint is not sustainable.

NATIONAL ASSEMBLY FULLL ELECTRONIC VOTING!!!.. #AMEND THE LAW NOW!! # PRESIDENTMUSTSIGN
