Some options if you are outside Canada at the moment:

1.renew your passport in your maiden name in a state that does not require NIN (I think only Lagos, Rivers and Abuja issue the enhanced passport that requires NIN, I may be wrong). This way the names on PR card and passport remain the same.

I have asked at the passport offices and NIN is compulsory in all states now for renewals and new passports.

2. if you prefer to have the new passport in your new name, then apply for a new PR card in your new name (https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/new-immigrants/pr-card/how-to-apply.html) and simultaneously apply for a PRTD in your new name with new passport details (in case the card is not produced on time). A PRTD application last month (Feb) took about a week to be approved........even if passport stamping takes 2 months it'll be ready well ahead of August. Apply for PRTD here: https://prson-srpel.apps.cic.gc.ca/en/login

Currently checking this out.
3. attempt to travel with PR card, old passport in maiden name, new passport in married name and marriage certificate/change of name affidavit - success may depend on the airline (if they let you fly) and may get complicated if you are transiting through another country before you get to Canada. I may be wrong about this, just an opinion. Hopefully, someone who may have tried it responds.

I've been told that I can by IRCC. They asked that I send a message to CBSA just to affirm, which I have done.

My current options are:
1. Travelling before the 6 months mark as my current passport expires in November 2023
2. Renewing the passport and traveling with all supporting documents with the hopes that I can fly. The issue here is really with airlines as @GraciousWords pointed out.

@ednut1 @GraciousWords any additional advice please?
Also, how easy is it renewing Nigerian passports in Ottawa?
Anyone with advice/information that will be helpful? Do you also know anyone who probably has been in this same situation before? Kindly help. Thank you.

Hello Everyone,

I am here to inquire if anyone have ever been successful with this 2nd review process after receiving ineligibility from the SINP Saskatchewan PNP program.

How did you go about it?
Did you involve a lawyer based in SK?

Please share your success stories!

Thank you for sharing your experience and advice but Joining local immigrant WhatsApp groups can be an excellent way to connect with others in your community and potentially find job and other opportunities, in addition to receiving accommodation suggestions. It's always helpful to have a network of support when settling into a new place. I arrived in Canada a few years ago, and my first job came from a recommendation I received through an African immigrant group that I had joined with other professionals. Therefore, no matter how wealthy you are, it's essential not to disconnect yourself from your society. Genuine networking is critical in Canada, especially for new immigrants. Please don't hesitate to seek out these support networks as they can be immensely valuable.
please can you share any group I can join as a new immigrant.. I am so in need of informations and settling down

Things don’t work that way here bro. Have you searched notable rental websites, made calls to agents to help?
What’s the struggle precisely?

If you did not live in Canada as a temporary resident before you landed in 2022, the answer is no. You however have to file a 2022 return. The deadline for most people to file a 2022 return is April 30, 2023

There are a whole lot of crises in Ontario Housing. A landlord told me he had to put up his tenanted house for sale because his monthly mortgage moved from $5700 to about $7400 a month. He tried to increase the total rent he gets from the house to $6400 the tenants are resisting.

Most newcomers especially if you were paying N300K PER ANNUM ($450) for an apartment in Mowe, find it incredible to believe that you can pay $2000 a month for an apartment. It only begins to make sense when you start earning in Canada, which could take up to 3-6 months.

So it is a big problem letting to new comers.

Also is there any WhatsApp group for Nigerians in Belleville.

For me better land in Ontario where his school his to avoid questions why are you landing in British Columbia while your school is in Ontario especially when he started he doesn't have a ton in Canada. If during his application and he said he has an uncle there, then okay.
