With the outcome of the 2023 General Elections,, it can actually be said that “Nigerian Elections are heading somewhere positive.”!!

We are definitely progressing.

At least, starting from the Osun Elections of July 2022, which totally eliminated manual addition of imaginary votes and over-voting at the Polling-units..
And now to the 25th February 2023 and 18th March 2023 General Elections, where the manipulators (the desperate politicians and the indued/biased umpire) seek to manipulate the outcome of the actual votes cast by the various individual parties, but without altering the total number of the votes cast, so that their final results wouldn't have any pointer to Over-voting..

This clearly shows that Over-voting had been totally defeated in our Electoral Processes.. But Vote-Manipulations and Vote-Swapping (after the actual voting had been concludee) is yet to be eliminated.

BUT WE WILL SOON GET THERE..!!

We started this journey from somewhere, and we are heading to somewhere.!!
And we will definitely get there in this lifetime.

Vote-Manipulations, Vote-Swapping, and Wrong-Calculation of votes would soon be defeated too..
Even without the eventual introduction of “FULL ELECTRONIC-VOTING SYSTEM, WITH ONLINE REALTIME REMOTE-VOTING OPTIONS ALSO INCLUDED”..

Then, we would be left with only Pre-Election Issues which include violence, thuggery, inducements, lies, insults and banters, and so on.

..

One Thing is very clear...

With the systems and the technology that is already in place,, the Vote-Manipulations can easily be detected.

But the political will of the Government (and the disposition of the INEC) to stop the manipulations or to punish all those people that were found wanting - is not there.

The Only Solution Is:
“FULL ELECTRONIC-VOTING SYSTEM, WITH ONLINE REALTIME REMOTE-VOTING OPTIONS ALSO INCLUDED”

That's the only permanent solution.
But they said that Nigerians are not ready.

Slowly but surely we will achieve true democracy and be free from the crutches of our archaic system.
But as at now, we still are not there yet.

Anyone who says that today's elections are no improvement to the previous ones is only deceiving himself. Thank you to technology and the people who reviewed the electoral act 2022.

In fact, those people did an outstanding job. That's the only thing that made it possible for a structureless party like Labour party to win elections across Nigeria. Before now, politicians were writing election results from their rooms.

Going forward, they need to make our police bear weapons. If not at the PU, it should be close to the PU. Our police must be licensed to shoot miscreants who cause election-related violence.

What is the difference between over voting and vote manipulation?

You have defeated scam but you haven't defeated fraud?
