The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has extended a hand of fellowship to the other contestants in the just concluded governorship election.

Gists9ja earlier reported that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Sanwo-Olu the winner of the Lagos Governorship election.

Sanwo Olu should allow the small boy cry in peace, he’ll come around. He was being misled by some people and by now I believe he has learnt his lessons .

Misled by who? Thugs?

The only lesson from this election is that to defeat the ruling party in Lagos, you need to come with the same level of crase. Whoever is going to win Lagos should be able to infiltrate McOluomo's camp. Lagos state election is definitely not for sane-minded people.

It has never been about GRV. All these things you guys did to him, you did same to Jimi Agbaje. If PDP or LP give you people Oduduwa's grand son as their guber candidate, una go still trace his ancestry to Igbo.

Lagos state elections is war

That's why I said I expect Labour to have mechanisms to protect their voters. You can't leave it all to ordinary people to defend themselves from touts. Thank God the lagos touts aren't heavily harmed.

Any opposition in lagos has to get mercenaries to lagos hot spots to protect people.

You are too kind to the boy.

GRV was very rude. No respect for elders...talked anyhow, anywhere. His contempt for Yoruba culture was too obvious. There's a hidden rage within his core, as though he has a score to settle...

Don't blame them. I read somewhere that GRV made arrangements for security but that failed. Those who made that arrangement were arrested. They had planned to hire private security firms, vigilantes, and bouncers, for all polling unit. But that memo got to Twitter.

Remember how quick the police spokesperson responded when LP guys said they'll come to polling unit with dogs? Okay na, someone leaked the names of thugs, pictures, and the way they intend to operate on Twitter a day before the election but none was picked up.

This is why I said the election wasn't for sane minded-people.

You still don't get it.

GRV and Jimi Agbaje used similar tactics. They both courted Igbo bloc votes in Lagos...and failed.

Which one is courted Igbo bloc votes?

Anyway, the plan failed because both ethnic groups suffer a high degree of insecurity. Many igbos do not feel secure voting APC. Some Yorubas in Lagos have been formatted to avoid whoever Igbos want.

You be softee and as such you’ll always play politics with emotions lol. You are somehow right except for your last paragraph, I don’t know much about Jimi Agbaje . No matter how transparent the election is, GRV can’t win Lagos, his social media comments were very inciteful and more against his own people which makes me doubt if he was ever serious with politics. We hope for a better Nigeria with Asiwaju, all we need is your cooperation, support and prayers. Gob bless you abundantly.

We? You and who need my cooperation? Abeg oo 😂 I cannot cooperate with someone I don't believe in. But I can't wish failure on Nigeria because of my perception about one man or party. His ability to succeed is no longer in the hands of voters. We've done our part by voting those we believe in. God bless you too, abundantly.

Tinubu lost Lagos State to Obi in the Presidential elections, that tells me one of the ethnic groups doesn't suffer a high degree of insecurity as you asserted.

The same way Alex Otti hopped on Peter Obi's wings to win, I believe any Labour Party candidate, without the baggage of the nature of previous social media "outpourings" like Gbadebo, would have won a close race in Lagos State.

I chose my words carefully. I didn't say "Igbo votes" but "Igbo bloc votes." When a candidate comes along to rally a non-Yoruba group in order to win a Gubernatorial seat in a Yoruba dominated State like Lagos, you think the Yoruba's will not rally back. GRV did not even help himself with his past tweets which some Yoruba's find insulting. Many Yorubas who voted for Obi In the Presidential elections did not vote for GRV. Why?

The first thing I'll always ask people like you is whether you were around in 2015/2019.

It is insecurity when you believe that the same people you have been selling your lands to for decades (without claiming Lagos), will suddenly take over Lagos through GRV, a Lagosian.

Most of the Yorubas who used GRV's tweets against him also called Obi IPOB. Let's be honest with ourselves, even Obi suffered a significant share of bigotry. The moment they started calling Obidients "IPOB" (of all the names in the world), it became clear that the intention wasn't about incompetence but where he came from. We called Tinubu names, his gaffes were used against him, etc. but no one came for his tribe or used the issues in his ethnic group as a basis to reject him. I didn't see that on a large scale.

The reason Obi won in Lagos is not really different from the same reason he won Abuja convincingly.

GRV's loss his due to a multiplicity of reasons. We can't attribute that to tweets alone. At the presidential election, I saw old men and women taking about tribal solidarity as a basis to vote BAT. Sanwo-Olu had to beg these old folks to talk to their children (youths). Despite all that, they still deployed thugs, etc. Don't forget the fact that Obi's loss also demoralised many. Some lost confidence in the process, BVAS, etc.

You don't have to sound like a fool every now and then.
Learnt his lesson for contesting and almost disgraced the incumbent? Don't think everyone is a coward like your Dad.

Most of the people who have been announced as winners by INEC will eventually lose their mandates. Buhari promised Nigerians a free and fair elections and disappointed us again. Let's keep our fingers crossed as we watch events unfold in the days ahead. To make the situation more appalling are the bunch of fools who call themselves youths and are supporting the blatant display of thuggery and intimidation at the election venues. It won't end well for you!

You actually have to know about Jimi Agbaje's story before you can objectively respond to this. Jimi Agbaje was cool but same thing played out.
