We Are Disappointed With Inec's Decision To Review Obingwa's Results - Abia PDP by Nemere2020: 3:32pm On Mar 21, 2023
PRESS RELEASE

The Abia State Chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) wishes to express her disappointment and consternation with the decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC Nigeria to review the collation of Obingwa LGA result which has already passed through unit, ward and Local government collation processes, ostensibly because INEC “office in Obingwa Local Government Area was invaded by thugs yesterday Sunday 19th, March 2023 and our officials held hostage in relation to the collation of results from the Local Government Area”, according to a statement credited to Barr Festus Okoye.

It is important to note the following:

1. There were also reports of INEC officials allegedly being held hostage in Ohafia LGA, Umuahia South and Umuahia North, yet INEC accepted results from those LGAs.

2. It is on record that Obingwa is the only LGA where polling agents insisted on full compliance with the INEC’s stated guideline of announcement of results at unit, and collation at wards so that polling agents can have copies prior to submission to State collation office.

3. We are not aware of any report by security agencies in the state, including Nigerian Police Force if the Department of State Services (DSS), indicating violence in Obingwa LGA before, during and after the election of March 18th, 2023.

4. Our party, and indeed others, have seriously complained about results that were changed at INEC office Umuahia, contrary to INEC procedures, with particular reference to Unuahia North, Umuahia South, Osisioma, Aba North, Aba South and Arochukwu without any action taken by INEC.

5. We suspect strongly that this so called review is another grand design to subvert the 2022 electoral guidelines, as published by INEC in our state given that in the case of Presidential elections, PDP and other parties made similar calls for review without acceptance by INEC that simply asked them to “go to court”.

We therefore call on INEC to immediately accept and announce Obingwa LGA result as collated from units through the wards, using the same guideline and rules they applied during 2023 presidential election.

Rt Hon Asiforo Okere
Abia State Chairman
Peoples Democratic Party

Thieves!
Okezie Ikpeazu is a criminal that needs to be chased out of Abia State.

Ikpeazu embezzled all the Allocation given to him to liberate Abians.

T.A Orji, the former governor of Abia State is disappointed with Ikpeazu, after Ikpeazu embezzled the public funds given to him without doing anything meaningful with it angry

INEC: This is the Problem With Obingwa Results for Abia Guber 2023

- The total registered voters in Obingwa is about 157,000

- The total number of voters accredited on 18th of March via BVAS in Obingwa is a little above 23,000

- PDP Allegedly allocated a whooping 108,000 votes to itself in the said LGA

- The INEC returning officer upon seeing the unbelievable 'bomb' queried the collated results and contacted its headquarters in Abuja for advice

- The INEC headquarter then mandated the returning officer to suspend the results from Obingwa and directed the commission's southeast zonal office to review the results from Obingwa

INEC will be trying to understand how 23,000 voters who were accredited to vote in Obingwa manufactured 108,000 votes

For the records, below is the voting pattern of Obingwa Local Goverment Area in the current 2023 elections so far.

OBINGWA LGA: presidential election(2023)

If the Igbos will not vote for a Yoruba indigene of a south east state if he contest for governor, then they should not condemn the Yorubas for not voting for an Igbo indigene of a south west state when he contested for governor.

Tribalism is not exclusive to any tribe or region in Nigeria, so I don't want to see any Igbo man throwing a tantrum because of tribalism in the south west because there is also tribalism in the south east, the south south and every part of Nigeria.

moscow007:
I've been in shock since Saturday, I never believed Yorubas are this evil and tribalistic, I have cool and descent Yoruba friends, now I can't look at them the same way embarassed cry

One fact is obvious to every Igbo man and people of old Eastern region, "Yorubas are your real enemies, not Fulanis"

They will destroy your source of livelihood and kill you if given the chance. Healing from this is impossible. embarassed embarassed cry

Look at these fools…

Ikpeazu wanted to do what Wike did in Rivers but man is so dull he can’t even rig election intelligently.

Little wonder Abia has been in a mess under his leadership.

I just pray INEC gets this one correctly and helps liberate Abia. Them don too suffer.

No b Lagos.. u will hardly see Dem😂

The people who talk about Lagos are those who reside there.
Being the commercial capital of the country, u woukd find more people there. Those people there pay tax, and their tax also used by the state government. It is not for free.
Where people reside, they have right to talk about politics. I don't reside in Lagos, I don't talk about it.
If u want people who aren't yoruba to stop talking about Lagos, pls join us to demand for Nigeria to be broken up. This way, regions can have the control of their own resources and build their own sea ports, airports, and rails the way they want.
U can have a centralized system of govt where everyone resources which comes mainly from south east and south south, fund the entire country while the HQ of these companies are in Lagos which is normal for any commercial hub, and u expect people not to live there and participate in politics.
Make una dey get sense small small na.
