Nobody Has Summarized The Situation Of The Yoruba Nation Better Than This! by LocalStandard1(m): 6:18pm On Mar 22, 2023
For days now and maybe even weeks I have scratched my head in the night before bed, scratched it while standing at work during the day and even did same while sitting in the gym in the evenings. I saw and noticed a trend still unseen by many, a growing one. A very fast change but steady over time.

The Yoruba nation is changing, it's happening fast but is still unseen and unnoticed cause it's gradual. And it's in a downward spiral!
But how can I put it all in writing? I ask myself. How can I say it to hit home without sounding mischievous and even bigoted?

I know what I am saying and know the pattern when I see one cause I am from a section of the country that is highly docile, to put it in a single word. I don't hide the truth even if it's at my own. And it is easy to notice cause we are a minority. You will not see or notice the same growing trend in the Yoruba people cause they are a majority tribe. So much so that they are in their tens of millions. These reality will start to be more prominent and evident in about a decade or so to come.

The following thread says it exactly as I would have, exactly as I have been saying even though in smaller pieces of posts. Read it and go through my posts through some weeks and months ago and see the alignment. Sadly these kinds of posts do not get promoted cause they're viewed as threatening or even insulting.

I was shocked by the Yoruba race in the 2023 elections. Never seen a people scared of their own shadow.

There are Yoruba in Kano, Kaduna. Never had a single Fulani say Yoruba or Igbo must leave their land because of election. Really shocking. So threatened that they now behave like dogs on heat.

The entire Nigeria will not forget this in a hurry.

The irony is that whoever was not Yoruba regardless of tribe, whether Calabar, Akwaibom, Igala, Ebira were all regarded as Igbo. Wont be forgotten in a hurry

I used to admire and learn from the Yorubas, used to see them as the beacon worth emulating.

So you can imagine the bewilderment when people assume I am Igbo cause of how much and how I write about them. But you can only learn from the best, the most capable.

Success of a group goes beyond making music and dancing in parties, even on that the Igbos are also doing well.

When the face of a group and the most admired person held in the highest regard is person of such questionable and abysmally shady character, in the person of Tinubu, you know the society, group, tribe is indeed in a downward spiral.

The funny thing about this its that lagos usually use to remove themselves from yoruba stuff but waits during election to alien with themselves.

Thing is, if you look beyond the insecurities you see a people struggling for survival. But why and what will make one of the most populated tribe in Africa be struggling for survival?

That is what that post and even mine try to shed light into.

The best is yet to come for the Yoruba people. We are moving forward rather than your imaginary downwards spiral.
They refused to surrender Lagos to a novice and suddenly there's a downward spiral! A beg.

It is more than the Eko State. It is about a once impressive tribe and their now chase for shadows. That is what I continue to try to demonstrate in words.

They will bury you for pointing this.
I once envied being a Yorouba when I was little but seeing how they turn out at my adult days is shameful.

Normally I don't ever bother reading off of like yous or even responding. But since this is about you I will indulge you.

I am from a minority tribe, from Kaduna State. Personally I am good with patterns, I see a pattern growing among the Yoruba. I know cause I leave the experience, you wouldn't cause you don't and continue to suppress any reason.

I personally used to admire and hold the Yoruba in high regard cause I used to think them as the model for learning, everywhere around Nigeria used to. Scratch that!

Notice the trend, Nigerian minority tribes now are more gradually gravitating towards the East. It is a subconscious trend and mindset but still happening. There is something going on that many can not explain or even notice, but it's there.

That is what the post is talking about.

Baba just like for the Igbos today, I personally used to carry Yoruba matter for head like gala. Sorry to say but I used to despise the Igbos, again, sorry to say.

Now I am considered an Igbo cause of my trajectory. Thing is, the wise and enlightened will only align and learn from the best and where he thinks he will grow better from. The Igbos have done it even after not being close to power for more than half a century. That is more than any major tribe in Africa (I wrote about it). Non come close!

Baba I only took the map from the original source oh. But I will change it, the person that put it is a Yoruba but is also the writer of my referenced post. Atleast that proves it was made by a core Yoruba.

I think its the Lagos and Tinubu factor forcing some to be less proud of their educational background . As of 2007, the first thing we tried to do when we are in Lagos is to learn Yorouba.
But in 2014-2023. I found out such has drastically stopped.

I think you're right even though I don't get your entire write-up.

My uncle relocated to Lagos around that year, he learned Yoruba in only some months or about a year. I personally was learning Yoruba from a neighbor some years ago, and I have never set foot in the SW. My most impressive Yoruba word was Beni (spelling might be wrong though). Many Yoruba say it a lot in Kaduna when talking.

Now, I don't give a sh*t about learning it, not interested. Not that I hate anyone but do not really have any zeal or need for it.

Let me ignore the first part of you post, trite and absolutely unnecessary.
I want you to show empirical evidence to support what you are saying. Are more people moving to the SW or moving out or what exactly are you talking about?
Don't use your personal experience to come to a jaundiced conclusion about millions of people.

That there is why I try to avoid like-yous. You people bend topics and discussions to fit a small minded narrative. What makes you think "everybody is moving to the SW"? The highest is Lagos and even that has slowed down over the years.

Are not the SW too struggling to leave their States and region? You people talk as if all Yorubas are only in the their "good old" SW. That is very small minded my friend!

As for the write-up, the referenced post was made by a fellow Yoruba. You wouldn't know cause you don't want to and suppress any reason.
