It doesn't worth the hype... A city with no road network shouldn't be bragged about over inability to provide common human want.

Smh

IN A MEGA CITY, WE SHOULD EXPECT THIS. BUT TO BE HONEST THE ROAD PLANNING NETWORK OF LAGOS WAS POOR. ITS SERIOUSLY VERY BAD ON ISLAND,

Take example from Lekki phase 1 to Epe. Only one same road that harbours millions of occupant and cars along that corridor. No alternative roads , no alternative transport system such as light trains. Also. Most land where sold to estates. Hence, all alternative routes that were supposed to be available were gated by estates.
Therefore adding more suffering to motorist and people. It's too bad. And it breaks me when I had to go to work everyday plying that road.

Lagos state govt needs to do something fast.

Couple with the rate of accommodation. As times goes on civil servants will not be able to afford Rent in the so call city centers in Lagos state.

I have seen many post on NL job section asking if they should choose lagos or remain in their current location, hence the need to do a write up about Lagos traffic

Create deap and well licenced Sea ports in other regions and watch the traffic decimate drastically.
Secondly, Site industries out of Residential areas
Lagos state government already did theirs at Lekki free trade zone. Let other states think out of the box and not wait for the FG to do everything for them. States can now embark on deep seaport construction, choose your governor wisely.

I just couldn't bear it anymore and threw in the towel in 2016 when I resigned to start my own independent consultancy.

The stress in Lagos is unbearable. It is even worse now because of the closure of Apagbon bridge. I pity those that commute to work every day in Lagos. I can't try it again!!

How some people wake up like 4a.m every morning to get to work on time amazes me. Some have been doing this for the past 25years.

Omo me I start to fear Lagos when I dey for traffic sleep wake up l, sleep again wake up, then sleep another one wake up, we still dey traffic...

I had to sleep again to wake up and found out that we have succeeded in moving from 1pole to 2poles.

Then I had to take a deep sleep and wake up and found out that we are still at that 2nd pole and driver done even off engine dey sleep too, while conductor dey front dey huzzle for road to sail if we fit move from that 2nd pole to at least 3rd pole.

No fucking cap.

Multiply that times 5. That's 20 hours a week. It will be more for those that also work weekends.

Now come multiply 20 times 52 (number of weeks in a year) you will get approximately 43 days. That's a month and thirteen days you spend in traffic in a year, as a Lagosian.

And that's just on average. Choke

After spending 6 hours in traffic, you will think you're the most hardworking man in the world.

6 hours that will fetch you a legitimate N50,000 from WFH.
