What is the very basic amount of money that we need per day to survive in a big city and a small town in Ontario, Canada?

When you say we? How many in the family?

If 1 person budget $2500(inclusive of utilities) for a 1 bedroom in big cities. If 2 people budget more than $2700 for a 2 bedroom. Except you want to stay in a basement and that would cost you about $1800 minimum even in the farthest cities of Ontario except you want to stay in one remote village of Northern Ontario.

For feeding , Budget $150 to $200 weekly for groceries for a family size of 1 to 3.

Everyone situations are unique and different. It is also depends on the officer. The question you would be asked would be based on your application. They would be expecting the same response as you declared in your approved application.

There are a whole lot of crises in Ontario Housing. A landlord told me he had to put up his tenanted house for sale because his monthly mortgage moved from $5700 to about $7400 a month. He tried to increase the total rent he gets from the house to $6400 the tenants are resisting.

Most newcomers especially if you were paying N300K PER ANNUM ($450) for an apartment in Mowe, find it incredible to believe that you can pay $2000 a month for an apartment. It only begins to make sense when you start earning in Canada, which could take up to 3-6 months.

So it is a big problem letting to new comers.
No wonder Ontario folks are moving to our sweet Alberta and price of house is beginning to rise here.
I placed an offer for a laned home here for $440k, PSA was prepared and sent, before I could say jack, someone from Ontario added 15k to the house and owner accepted, was shocked.
Met a Nigerian nurse who moved to Edmonton Jan last yr, as I speak, he has 3 houses in Edmonton.

And we complain about price increase and millions of young people not been able to afford to get homes?

I don't blame these buyers buying 3 , 4 houses to rent out and make money but housing should never be a primary investment. Buy house , sit on it without any investment or brain power. After 2 years it is worth 40% more. That's unsustainable for any economy.

Government should be taxing any 2nd , 3rd house which isn't the primary place of residence by at least 60% . This should discourage this nonsense.

Same. Housing or Shelter is a right, not a privilege. It should not be a money-making venture at the detriment of the society. It is cruel.

There's a lot resentment amongst young people toiling without an end in sight. The average minimum wage worker can't even afford to rent in most of these cities across the world. And these are the essential people turning the wheels of the economy of these places.

Lots of people going homeless because they live pay check to pay check and can't afford to miss a single day of work or they would end up on the streets.

I can't imagine what the next 20 to 30 years would be. Something has to be done to redress these things and building high rises in multiple places alone won't fix these things unfortunately.

They are not reading from a script. Just have all necessary documents handy and if they request you show them.

It won't take more than 10minutes I guarantee you.

real estate has always been a sure investment and will continue to be. A lot of incentives for first time home owners and from there you can continue to buy. YOLO

Calgary prices are going up because of the interest rate and people moving down here. Edmonton houses are more cheaper though

Yeah, some times agents like wakanow have better deals than direct ticket purchase. Hey, can one with Canadian student visa and Nigerian passport go with Delta Airlines through Atlanta to Regina?

I know that transiting through US needs a sort of visa or citizenship benefits Nigeria doesn't give. I told them. I hope their money doesn't hang with the airliner.
