SmartPolician:So that the like of Arise TV will gaslight the judge and promote fake news. So that social media fake mews and sensationalism could mar the proceeding and undermine the confidence of the judiciary. In a country where media outlet and journalist aren't free of bias. It's not done anywhere in the world. The year America decided to allow live coverage of court proceeding during the O. J Simpson case in 1994, it was regretted. Justice was allegedly marred by public opinion and outcry of racism. The lead judge Robert Kardashian- Kim Kardashian father could not dispense justice. Nigeria is a nation without experience. |

This will simply create more strife and divisions in society. People will use social media to amplify and distort what is going on. Highly subjective and unfounded allegations will be propagated about the Justices and lawyers. If a Justice sneezes, coughs or laughs at 'the wrong time', social media may erupt with claims that he was passing a coded message to lawyers of a certain party. All sorts of spurious allegations will be made & spread by influencers who have zero knowledge about how a court works. Justices and lawyers will become targets of personal abuse. Their family members will not be left out. Broadcasting will, in my view, cause far too much trouble. I cant see the Supreme Court agreeing to a life broadcast. |
