We will get 24 hours power supply when Nigerians stop chasing away disco workers, and allow DISCOS to set their prices and pay them their money.

The main problem is power generation...

The Discos will set a head cutting price if allowed, na capitalism.

So they shouldn't be allowed...

Nigerians are wicked when its any pricing.

I didn't realise it would be as lengthy as this video depicts. This is really something if we're being honest. Very much worth the wait. As a Rivers State citizen, I can't help but admire how far Lagos has come. They're closer to the Nigeria of our dreams than most in the country. I just wish Rivers State had this type of purposeful governance. Down here we have the resources but pour it all on trivialities that doesn't help the socio-economic status of the state. Lagos is indeed on the right track.

Apart from excursions like this, many contemporary school pupils are deprived of writing and comprehension skills which emboldens them to express their opinion on social media violently.

Teach them the subtle arts of expression and eloquence.

Let the children learn paradoxes, oxymorons and ironies peculiar to the Nigerian story like, "the sun rises in the west and sets in the East" so that they can retrospect even as young people.

Let them write essays about their outings. Examine them to ensure the trips improved their lives.

God Bless Nigeria.
God Bless Lagos State.
God bless the pupils.

How do you think we got our functioning GSM system? By letting the GSM companies do hard capitalism...it was so bad that to get SIM card then, people were paying above N10000...the same SIM that we get now for N1000 or less self.

The GSM companies earned enough profit to pay for all the wiring and antenna that the network is based on. No be government or South African money...it is OUR MONEY that pays for the functioning GSM network.

Power sector? Na government wey set price too low for years, and even after privatization refused to let the companies set their prices. Add the fact that 40% of people were not paying their bills...rich and poor. At the end, NEPA was running broke..and when it was privatised, it still kept on running broke. And you expect power to flow when the people that are giving you that power are not making profits? Ok o. Maybe na goverment wey go pay them money....government that in the process is sustaining debts to do so.

Oga, if you were running a business, would you let government set your price? If you do that, you willnot make any profits whatsoever. And you will be having loan collectors chasing after you well well.

I know of one medical docitor...came from obodo oyinbo to open hospital for Naija...which closed in a year because he could not make enough profit to break even upon all the subsidised prices he was running.

China used to be like Naija whey govermnent pays for everything...until they woke up 40 years ago and allowed capitalism...that is why they are prosperous today.

It's fine, it's a great project, but it came at the wrong time.

Imagine powering the various terminal's with generator and the various consequences?

This rail line can't even serve up to 50k people per day, it can't generate up to 100k isd per day, yet it has gulped $2 bilion.

The $2 billion USD would have been used to build a world class has turbine that will provide 247 electricity for Lagosians. That will in turn create lots of revenue for the state and also trigger the industrialization process of Lagos State.

Which country are you? President just signed the bill last week to enable each state generate power and transmit it.

Power capitalism go pain pass GSM capitalism..

You can without even recharging or buy data.

But power is something many people rely on...

Controlled capitalism is a bit better...

There is nothing like controlled capitalism. At the end, governments have to let businesses, and that includes power, to set their prices, otherwise dem no go make profit.

Or you have forgotten that most of the machinery and equipment we use for our power sector is imported? Plus Ekene, Ojo, and Mustapha wey dey work for DISCO and GENCO also are Nigerians that want salary increase too to take care of their families...and government has stopped paying them their salaries since 2014...it is what they make from bills that theyget paid from?

Food is something that most Nigerians rely on. Okay. Shey you go gree if government sets price of yam at N20 a tuber so that people can enjoy cheap yam....meanwhile we have to pay the farmer, the transporter of the yam, the yam retailer their money...can N20 cater for all their needs, work and effort in bringing the yam to you?

Oga, you are free to disagree with me, but I am here to tell you, even though you do not like it....that THINGS COST MONEY. Again...THINGS COST MONEY.

I think we're working on a competent regulation of the power sector.

Regulation is what is lacking in the power sector. Jonathan's privatization of the power sector was not backed by strong legislation unlike Obj's transformation of the telecommunication sector.

There must be strong laws against offenders who don't pay bill and connect electricity lines without approval.

The law must permit the Discos to enforce compliance through courts that must hear and decide on those crimes within 30 days or a shorter period of time.

The Discos must also have legal backing to enforce breach of contract against the Gencos and get justice within one Month in specialized tribunals.

The law must prevent Government regulation of consumer prices.
