LOL.

Once you get to Onne, the first thing you'd hear is, "Abobo, jazz in dia!" Drive down to Oil Mill and it's "Esssssss! Who dey kpramma for di ama?!' (Whatever "kpramma" means?) Yep! You don't need signposts - Welcome to Rivers 'fûcking' State!

It's not propaganda. Rivers State has a deep-rooted culture of violence. Once you access the state from Onne or Oyingbo, you'd be greeted with slangs used by clandestine groups.
Violence or the threat of it is celebrated in every part too. Every single part.

Up until 2015 or 2016, it was an anomaly to find a teenage boy who either hasn't been initiated into these devious groups, affiliated to them, or posturing as one. Even till date. They don't hide - they brag about it. From Obigbo to Eleme to Abua to D-Line and on to Emuoha and beyond, violence, vices, and thuggery are woven into the social lifestyles of the everyday person.

No kind of violence or vice the mind can conjure is impossible in Rivers State.

Violence, isolated, and Rivers State do not match. There's at least one case of this in Mile 1, Port Harcourt every other month. And this is just a small part of PHALGA.
Kidnappings are happening every single day in Rivers State. It's become so commonplace, the local media seem to ignore it.
Do you live in Rivers state?

Rivers state is safe, If you're boxed up, Rivers state is a better place to stay compared to Lagos. Yes there are cases of small crimes here and there but then in advanced climes, they also grapple with little crimes.

People don't care to verify events or news, no disrespect to peter obi, he's a good man but the bandwagon and herd mentality was instrumental in him getting supporters, this election period was just a big social experiment. Same thing is applied to products in businesses, fashion trends, music, movies etc, people tend to go with what majority are buying or doing.

Lmaooo I think you are partly correct but still over-exaggerating how bad it is.
For example yes in oil mill you have alot of cultist as they mostly live in those areas with their families for sure.
But you won't get stopped during the day.. Atleast throughout my time of living in rivers especially PH, I only got stopped once and it was a guy in front of the army base close to pleasure Park who begged for cash as baba was hungry so I won't even count it as obtaining.
And I walked around that oil mill and eleme area alot and didn't encounter any form of intimidation.

Infact the only time there was cult issue was when they fought the Northern guys in that oil mill side and still the northern guys dealt with them😁

I figured you'd say this. If you had stated where you resided, I'd have stated where I resided in the city, where I worked and specific places I sort of go to when I visit the city (which is frequently).

Even the CarniRiv during Amaechi's time in December was always punctuated by violence. Get caught up in that stadium by past 7PM and it's you and you alone. But I won't push it.
You don't even live in the state currently, you opinion about Rivers state is premised on when you stayed in the state during Amaechi's tenure. I move around by 1am, 2am, in those places you talk about and nothing happens.

I know for a fact someone in my church who was kidnapped in PH two years back.

However if the guys that stay there say such things are isolated incidents I differ to their extensive knowledge of the place.

Man, let's even focus on PHALGA which is the capital of Rivers. Can you beat your chest that you can walk around Mile 1 unscathed by 9PM? Let's not even go into Ogbunabali.

Do I come across like someone who doesn't know how Rivers State works or doesn't know just about every nook and cranny there is? Asides living and working there for years, you'd be surprised how many times a month I have to pop into Rivers (Port Harcourt especially).

Abonema, Degema and the likes have kidnappings, shootouts, and killings EVERY SINGLE DAY! Everyday.
It's rough in Port Harcourt but outside of Port Harcourt is the Wild West in very direction.

I stay in Obioakpor, on Thursday a friend called me by 12am informing that he was around my place, he stays in PHALGA and he moves around freely without fear. That guy lived in Rivers state during Amaechi's tenure when Don wanny and the other bad guys held sway, yes the governor has issues but people don't mess around or fhuck around because they know what he's capable of, crime rate has reduced drastically, people still use those slangs for banters as they are engrained in the state but generally the place is peaceful, nobody send you, even in diobu.

If living and working in a state for a few years then having to spend some days at a stretch every other month there categorizes as living there, then yes, I partly live in Rivers State. Rivers is a freaking violent state.

Want to argue? Mention where you reside there and I'd mention specific places I hobnob in. No or yes? You can't because where you reside is a violence hotspot.

Rivers state is safe, If you're boxed up, Rivers state is a better place to stay compared to Lagos. Yes there are cases of small crimes here and there but then in advanced climes, they also grapple with little crimes.

Rivers is so violent, a gunshot in the air wouldn't scare the residents. Hard as nails. Loud bang like "kpos!!!" and in two minutes people are moving around like nothing is happening. In the creeks, kids would tell you what gun type makes a particular sound.

I don't think there's any other place in the South where a group of fun seekers are sprayed with bullets to get one person why an antagonisers but Rivers State breaks that rule.

On any vice index, Lagos probably tops Rivers on a ritual killing scale.
But on thuggery, Lagos is extortion at parks and markets, Rivers is to extort, rob, and harm.

Again, how many teenage boys born and raised in Port Harcourt don't get into gangs? How many Port Harcourt youths don't use gang slangs?

Show me a state in Nigeria that hasn't recorded cases of kidnappings in the past 2 years? Even in Lagos and Abuja, they are reported cases of kidnappings. It's bad but it's not a Rivers state problem, it's a Nigerian problem.

Oga your are wrong, those things no longer happens. I won't waste my time engaging in a needless back and forth with you as it's evident that you're not willing to yield grounds. Arm robbery? Kidnapping? Killings? In Port Harcourt?
Let's start with Slaughter off Elelenwo. Yeah... You get the picture now.

These people are playing down on it. The issue is Rivers State. They began by insisting Rivers is safe then abandoned the narrative to focus on Port Harcourt which is a small part of the state. No, I spend considerable time in Port Harcourt every other month as a necessity.

There's a reason I have been insistent on mentioning specific streets and areas even in Port Harcourt which are violent hotspots.

Ask them to swear on anything sacred that at least 3 violent killings haven't happened in say, Elelenwo by Railway line or Slaughter this year alone in Obio Akpor which is a part of PHC. They can't and that's just a small part of the city.

You claim you live in PH City and know the city well. Your face isn't known but you've refused to mention the area. How do I trust your judgement? I'm the one who has been mentioning specific violent hotspots in PHC and particular reoccurent scenarios.

Your friend stays at Slaughter? Ask him to tell you the activities which take place there, just before you get to where the sandblasters work by the river. Let's begin there.

Breach of the peace occurs spasmodically. It is no longer prevalent. Although kidnapping infrequently occurs but it is usually a planned one by someone close to the victim.

See? This is probably the reason Nigeria isn't developing at the pace it should.
We have vices which should be rooted out but would defend it needlessly even when we are adversely affected.

The people who have spent months and weeks here for hours daily going on about the 'agbero' issue in Lagos suddenly do not have time to discuss the culture of violence in Rivers State. All of a sudden 'agbero' is a normal thing too. Yeah right!

Yes, I live in Rivers State partly. I don't need to spend 31 days monthly to qualify as one who resides in the state. And it's a very violent one. If I could, I'd stay away from the state entirely, necessity demands I have to spend time in the place.
-----
I also noticed how you all skipped the part I mentioned of Ogoni youths blocking the high way in broad daylight to rob despite military and paramilitary checkpoints numbering up to 17 from Akpajo to Oruk Anam. Everyone is suddenly blind to that. Robbing and maiming their victims unchallenged.

Most people here are hypocrites, trying to cover up the ills in their abodes for unknown reasons.

They are all out to tackle Lagos and use Polythene bags to conceal their states of residence.
