Yet they're the one ruling us šŸ™„

RS does not identify as Indian. He makes a clear distinction that he is British (wife is Indian but a billionaire, so more accurate to say billionaire Indian).

Big difference between how a British Indian and an Indian Indian are perceived.

I really donā€™t think itā€™s possible not to exceed the tax free amount because 20 hours will most likely give you Ā£800 p/m and I donā€™t think thereā€™s any job that will pay you just Ā£300 so you can remain tax free.

It's very possible. Someone is earning Ā£18k (0.5 FTE) working around 19hours a week

If you had watched UK border force, anyone can breach the Immigration rules regardless of nationality šŸ‘€

Zahra29:

Yeh I'm sure the Indians do it too undecided however their immigrant community also largely does not have a great image. You don't hear of Australian, American or even Chinese students breaking rules in the same way

Totally agree. But with many other nationalities, these individuals are the outliers. That's why some countries have easier visa arrangements with the UK, while other countries like Nigeria, Pakistan etc have to jump through hoops to get a visa and are rigorously profiledšŸ‘€
Breaching immigration rules should only happen outside of one's control and best intentions, and not planned for in the way some people so called "use their head" to circumvent the 20 hours rule - undoubtedly making it more difficult for other students that will come in after them.

Same way there was a crackdown about 10 years ago on bogus international colleges because it was discovered many immigrants were using them to obtain a student visa, but not attending school and working instead. And that's what spinned off a lot of current requirements like attendance registers, POF, CAS and all sorts

If you earn 18k with 19hrs, then why do you need to work extra hour

Earning like 900-1k monthly will give you about 12k?

I mean if you work more than 20 hours youā€™ll definitely pass the tax free threshold

Good morning everyone,

please my friend unfortunately had to work more than 20 hours because the bills were too much and heā€™s also the first child of the family so he had to pay siblings school fees and take care of his family back home in Nigeria.

He only started Working 34 hours after lectures was over and they were writing dissertation as he had exhausted every savings so needed money badly, Itā€™s time for psw but heā€™s scared of doing the Visa because he doesnā€™t want to be caught and deported.

Iā€™ve told him to try his luck and see what happens but heā€™s saying he doesnā€™t want to risk it, please is there any way for him to explain to the VO maybe in a cover letter or something else why he had to work those hours,

is it a bit better that he started working past 20 hours after lectures but during dissertation writing, can he also get a care sponsorship job as it is 2 months before the expiration of his visa and heā€™s been trying for weeks to get a care job but no luck.

Please donā€™t ignore as all advise are welcomed and my friend is very depressed now, we are trying to help but scared he might unalive himself because the financial pressure of going back to Nigeria might be too much.

No excuse will ever fly because students are expected to show a robust proof of funds that truly if you had that money then you won't work any hours over 20 hours... so he should forget excuse

However sometimes they check during psw and sometimes they don't . At this point he only can take the risk that they won't check and pray it would be fine. If you are ready to break rules then be ready for whatever outcome. Harsh but the reality . Hopefully it all goes well

Hello, please I need advice. I met my boyfriend(African-British) a few months ago and we plan to get married later this year. Unfortunately, I found out we are both of AS genotype. I'm optimistic about not having kids with sickle cell but since it can't be ruled out, I want to ask if the UK government provides adequate and free health programs for such or if the sickle cell treatment issue is the same here as it is in Nigeria

Pieces of Advice will be appreciated. Thanks

Ss management is not for the faint hearted... seeing your kids die or go through pain is not easy . That journey is not easy ooo. Please think really well

My friend here went ahead regardless and although UK is advance it was not easy. They test genotype for baby in the womb so her baby no 1 was SS she removed it at 4 months... Baby no 2 was Ss again and this time she was extremely traumatised removing it again . You already bonded with the child and all. I think before you start the journey talk is sweet the reality on ground is harder. Baby no 3 she turned out as As

But she so traumatised by the whole experience that she having only that child when having like 3 who have been her dream . She had a sibling who was a sickler and she saw what that sibling went through so for her she like SS is not fair to the child and wasn't going to be an option

You forget students can work full during vacation which is usually about 6 weeks(April, August and Dec.). No way they won't earn close or more than the 12,500 threshold.

hi hi, pls I have a question..

If you're sponsoring your parents' trip (flights, accommodation documents showing they can stay with you, etc) and lets say they're still employed.

1. Do you need to still show their own bank statements to show their salary inflow?

2. Does their inflow and outflow from the salary bank account matter?

Or just my bank statements and payslips are the main focus here?

Please I need experiences from those who sponsored their parents who are still employed.. what documents were submitted?

Thanks.

Gosh, Nigerians and wilful breaking of rules. Then said rules get tightened and Nigerians get an even worse name...

See my friend keep quiet if you don't know what you are saying, if you have it easy in life most people don't.

The Chinese, Koreans and Co. get loans from their government to come and study. In this UK financial crisis how do you want to cope if you are handling your accommodation, transport and other fees if you are doing just 20 hours, especially if you are staying in London or Manchester.

We as Nigerians, we are hardworking and if the job is there we will do it and make our money to survive.

The funny thing is that most employers are not even happy with this 20 hours rule, because they are looking for workers but they are limited because of this 20 hours rule.

I met a British man one time that was complaining about how most of their citizens don't want to come out to work anymore, they'd rather work from home instead. He said in his city, shops and the mall closes by 4pm because they don't have people to employ for evening shifts and what he appreciate about Nigerians is that they are always willing to work.

1. Yes. You still need to show their Bank Statement which will correlate with their financial circumstances. It doesn't need to have a huge balance but let their employment revenue show.

2. Yes, it matters. Let it make sense. Your parents cannot be earning N100k monthly and have an unexplained massive inflow.

Extra tip: Im your cover letter and application, explain any inflow/outflow that might cause the Officer to bounce the application

Youā€™ll rather throw insults at a total stranger online instead of writing a petition to UKVI to increase working hours.

Rules are rules irrespective of your economic status/background.

Nigerians will blatantly flout orders, then shout racism/blame the devil when itā€™s time to face the consequence.

Then goto church/mosque for thanksgiving or share testimony

This is why NIG. Politicians will continue to steal without fear of retribution.

Or police man demand for bribe without fear of being fired

The point is people are aware of the rules before they apply for the visas. UKVI did not kidnap them and force them into the UK, they applied willingly wherein they also agreed to follow the rules. Why didn't they tell UKVI in their application that 20 hrs was not enough and they planned to work more hours?

Is there a war in Nigeria? Why not plan properly and wait if necessary till the funds are complete, instead of rushing in and breaking the rules in the name of hustling? And then say that Nigeria is not working - because of many law breaking Nigerians!

You are just making unnecessary excuses. If he/she ends up with a rejected PSW application, the next weā€™ll hear is how wicked and racist the UK is, when he or she willfully understood the full implication of his/her actions.

The only thing that took my time was getting a stamp pad for fingerprinting. I literally got the certificate in 3days, I was so impressed at how seamless and superfast it was. A police officer I contacted was telling me 45k plus DHL waybill to the UK, God pass them!!!

Thanks brother. Been trying that website and it's giving errors since. I'll try again at night.

u donā€™t even need a stamp pad. Learnt it from them. Use your black or blue ink pens and paint the fingerprint part of your ā€˜fingerā€™ ā€¦ each one. Then press onto the paper.

Transport costs will depend on where you are going. If you frequent a particular location in the city, say for work, it might be better to pay for the weekly or monthly ticket. Will save you some money. Or if you have to make several journeys to and fro a particular location just for a day, you can buy a 24hr ticket. Otherwise, you can pay as you enter each bus. Also consider whether you will board 2 different buses to get to work, instead of paying twice each day, your weekly or monthly ticket covers this. Let's do the maths: if for instance, you spend 6 quids each day on bus, and you work for 4 days a week, that's 24 pounds; the weekly ticket might be 20 pounds. So you are saving 4 pounds a week.

For long distant journeys, trains are faster but more expensive. Download coach apps, you can get cheaper prices online than you will get at the office.

You need to learn how google map works, familiarize yourself with it.
Someone else may not be able to deduce your journey based on the picture you posted BUT youā€¦
The first one on the picture said you will walk 5 minutes to the bus stop then you enter bus 82, alight at the West midland metro, enter Metro again to your desired stop then walk 3 minutes to your destination..
