I don't know what he's on about. A number of states in Nigeria sponsor Muslims to hajj annually free of charge. I personally know Muslim relatives and friends that benefitted from such schemes.

The board needs to be dissolved. People should foot the cost of pilgrimages themselves.

We’ve not even talked about how scarce forex is handed out to these “pilgrims” at official rates who quickly round trip it on the black market and make a killing. That’s how Alhaji Dan Dogo blew up in Kaduna.

I know these things because I’ve seen beneficiaries first hand in my time working as a factory hand in Hausawa.

States pay the equivalent amount to NAHCON
States now collect that money from individuals that they allocate the seats to.
