you are wrong, it was not the obligation of all Jews, God didn't want tithe to be paid in form of money, read Deuteronomy 14:23 "Eat the tithe of your grain, new wine and olive oil, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks in the presence of the LORD your God at the place he will choose as a dwelling for his Name, so that you may learn to revere the LORD your God always.

You people should stop quoting Malachi when it comes to tithes - Malachi was mostly addressed to Levites, not the whole Israel. I don't intend to say much...
Go to Deuteronomy 12 and see God's instructions on tithes! It takes some understanding of the scriptures. Most old orthodox churches don't emphasise tithes for Christians. E get why. The last time this became a centre of attention in our social media space, the loudest people on the matter were Pentecostal pastors. But remember what the theologians (Catholics and the Anglicans) said.

you should know that Jesus didn't collect tithe because he was not from levitate, he was from judia, the mosaic laws says tithes should be paid to to the Levites because they didn't have any heritage from Israel
