smiley smiley, I pray you will see it the way as it is written, its has nothing to do with preaching, its simple, he believed, and was forgiven, and considered.
You should pray for yourself really because you look but can't see or understand what's clearly written in the passage you quoted. He didn't simply believe... He obeyed God's Word (works) and the Word of God worked for Him just as Jesus said.

Luke 9:26 (KJV)

For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels.

You would only have a valid case if he just said, "Lord remember me..." but he didn't but did the above work before that and Jesus wasn't ashamed of him as He said in His Word.

John 19:25 (KJV)

Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene.
Who confirmed from the witnesses

we are saved by the Lord of the sabbath, not by the sabbath.

Which is greater, the ground of the church or the altar. Which is greater, the altar or the presence of God which sanctifies the altar.

Jesus Christ said one absolutely must be born of water and born of spirit before one can then enter into the Kingdom of God. undecided
When exactly, during that conversation did the thief become born-again? undecided

So, was Jesus Christ being stupid when He made clear that under absolutely no condition can anyone gain access into the Kingdom of God without first being born-again? undecided

Please stop trying to run all over the place and answer the question.. undecided

And who was in the presence of this thief condemned to death, was it the instructions, or the Lord who gave the instructions.

So, salvation as explained by Jesus Christ in the context of John 3 vs 1 - 21 is completely meaningless to you?. undecided

So the Lord who gave the commands, is meaningless to you, and his presence is meaningless to you.

You didn't say anything about repentance, or isn't that a requirement to be saved?

He bore bore fruits worthy of repentance before he was saved by Jesus or don't you agree?

The other thief knew he was a sinner too and also asked Jesus to save him but wasn't saved by Him.
why are twisting the narative here? The other thief never ask Jesus to save him but rather making mocking of Jesus

You guys are really funny... I must have said the bolded below:

Luke 23:39 (KJV)

And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.

He was saved by his confession
Re: What Saved The Thief On The Cross? by justli: 1:35pm On Apr 16, 2023
Rom 10:

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

The condition for redemption is straight forward if we don't go stretching: Believe that he is the Lord, crucified and raised, and confess him as your lord. No work needed. But as a Christian the world will try and persecute you, you'll have to carry your cross to the end.
But make no mistake, We believe unto righteousness, we don't work to righteousness. The sacrifice was enough that no man should boast of his work.

This was so important that the apostle had to emphasize: So, shall we then continue in sin that grace may abound? Paul replies with a resounding “God forbid" . The acceptance of Christ sacrifice and confessing him as Lord and saviour puts the spirit in you and a contempt for sin.
You cannot have the spirit of God and eager to sin. The renewal of spirit in Christ is enough to guide you through life.
Yes, a misstep here and there, but the spirit immediately reprimands you, you repent of your sin and confess you faith...that's life in Christ Jesus
Re: What Saved The Thief On The Cross? by cooljoe(m): 1:40pm On Apr 16, 2023
The veto power of Christ saved the thief.

The Bible says “I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion, and show mercy to whom I’d show mercy”.

As the all powerful, all knowing God, once He decides it’s final. There is no fury legislating on the matter.

First, the other thief did not believe. Secondly, he did not ask Jesus to save him, instead, like the chief priest he was making mockery of Jesus: "if you be Christ, save yourself and save us". Just like the high priest asking Jesus to bring himself down from the cross if he is the Christ.

On the cross he asked, "Father forgive them". Praying for those who have brutalized him. May God have mercy on you. But your case might be different from those of theRomans soldiers, in that they didn't know he was the Redeemer, never heard the gospel, only taking orders,
But you my friend can do a deep dive in the life of Jesus...the only perfect man on recorded history to walk the face of the earth.

You have access to every information to find the truth for yourself, but instead chose to profane your maker. One day you'll stand before God in judgement.

Born again means confessing him as your lord and believing in your heart that was raised...then the Lord can save you. No

You are stretching you fit your narrative... The apostle emphasized we are no saved by work because the sacrifice was sufficient.

In the course of being a Christian, you'll have to carry your cross to the end, but it isn't the carrying of the cross that saves you...

The below verse is as direct as can be:
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast. [10] For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in the"

God only remembers people for the good they do for Him not those He did for them.

The gentile centurion was remembered by God because of the good work he did for God.

Acts 10:4 (KJV)

And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.

Therefore if you want Jesus to also remember you when He comes, you must also do a good work for Him that you could be remembered for.

God bless.
I do not agree with your statement that "God only remembers people for the good they have done for him ......." This tends to portend that it is by our works that we get remembered and favoured.

Where is the mercy of God in this? God said in Rom 9: 15 and 16 " ........I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy --------- It is not for him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but for God that showeth mercy"

It is not by our works. Yes God do remember our offering and sacrifices, but we are saved by those. It is just His mercies.
