A.I is definitely coming after everything as we know it. As a programmer, I'm scared sh.itless. It just a matter of time and many would be disposed of their jobs no thanks to A.I.

And in years to come, i see A.I taking over the movie world. It would not only write jaw dropping movie scripts but also direct and probably generate movie scenes, actors and even create CGI by itself. A lot of actors, directors and programmers would be shown the door.
People are already generating scenes on twitter by combining different pictures.

Yes i am aware of that, it was for a short film.

With newer versions of ChatGPT rolling out in months and years to come, i see it doing everything ( writing, directing, CGI etc). All it needs are people who can generate good prompts and voila, you'd have a lot of Oscar worthy movies.

You are right. In fact, learning how to generate good prompts on ChatGPT (and other AI to come) should be at the top of everyone’s priority list.

The only saving grace is that A.I still needs human input, if it becomes self aware and performs tasks on a whim, then we might have a massive problem on our hands.

What ChatGPT has done is child's play compared to what Microsoft and Google are cooking with Bing and Bard, Man. They took ChatGPT source code and made it massively better, Google's Bard preview involves it, going through your Gmail and replying the once that need response with a reply!. Still in Beta stage, if it gets to public release....total chaos. The COVID pandemic lockdown has put ideas in owners of tech companies that you don't need 100 programmers in a room to perform tasks, with the way A.I is going, they might not need programmers at all!.

Saw on MKBHD page last week, where lyrics were fed to an A.I and the bloody A.I sang those lyrics in Jay-Z's voice!.... definitely fooled me to thinking it was actually HOV singing 😩...scary...scary...times ahead.

Lol, this is prime example of overthinking and hysteria. If there's an industry that's AI resistant as I know, it's the entertainment industry.
And bruh, AI hasn't shown anything in its nascent stages now to do anything that can challenge the human mind.
For most movies to be successful it must feel natural and relatable. AI don't have this capacity yet apart to formulate analytical stuff. Using it excessively will prolly make things seem robotic and take the joy of off it.

Why do you think some directors are accused of overthinking and trying to reinvent the wheel and instead cause confusion. Eg Chris Nolan, Ari Aster.

Another industry I think AI would perform woefully and be scrapped is sports. Eg Football. Those close calls, talk of bias refereeing, problems with VAR and some weird calls by referees can't be REPLACED!!

AI isn't touching the entertainment industry Sha...

Of course there is room for additional space e.g there are AI YouTubers and all that...but it cannot replace humans ..

AI can write movie scripts and tell stories no doubt but it can never touch what humans are able to produce in those areas...

An AI will never single handedly write a masterpiece movie script

Gbamsolutely!!!!

AI will only assist and make an entertainers job easier. Not to take it away.
The industries that should be afraid of AI are the data analytics side, engineering design, programmers etc and stuff. Jobs with high analytical requirements.

But in terms of ART. AI will fail woefully. Except humans feeds it info which it can't independently do itself.

AI will only enhance the entertainment industry (movie) to prolly write or enhance a script. Plan/make better CGI, suggest better sets or setting to make a scene in a film more realistic or faithful to the initial vision but it CAN'T REPLACE actors, directors, even writers, Cinematographers, stunt artists etc.

AI dey learn work for where the human mind dey cos it's still actually humans feeding it. All what AI has done, humans have done it and did it better. AI just makes things easier and dastert. SIMPLE.

Na think say some lighting and movie Cinematography na beans. You think say na to just carry camera shoot gbas gbos dey go. You tell stories with your angles, compositions, camera movement and most importantly lighting. There's a way you light up a scene and it makes you truly feel the tone of a movie or video. Using that same lighting for another totally different content will be catastrophic.

AI will only bring problems where the human eye and mind can easily detect. Eg why are people now shouting and complaining of MCU's CGI. Shebi before it was all looking good and sweet cos it's novel. Now people can see through any Cinematic rubbish or even too much shït we Nigerians like to call "film trick". 😁😁
Why do some people complain and notice CGI and it's unnaturalness. Some people with keen eyes could notice irregularities with the water in Aquaman. Saying it doesn't look like a true-to-life underwater sequence. Why was AVATAR 1&2 praised, cos they broke new grounds in Cinematography and CGI. What's funny is that it's all developed by human input — James Cameron.

Don't be too sure about that. By the time we are at ff15, ai can probably write the script.

I want an insane fast and furious movie with velociraptors.

Or a marvel movie. If chatgpt can scrape every marvel or DC comic written, it can probably come up with a good script.

The dark knight rises was a mixture of the long dark, broken bat and another major arc I can't recall right now

Why I'm more than sure it'll all die down after a while. It's the next best advancement in consumer tech development humans have had. So it's definitely going to be all rave and noise now.

That was how Virtual Reality was some few years back before it now developed into Augmented Reality. There was also that tech 3D printing, few years ago that everyone was raving about.... Ayy, oooh, ahh, so many this would be eliminated; but where we dey las las.

The only thing that makes AI a serious threat now is simply because of how cheap and accessible it is with this chatGPT stuff and being organic. That's the main reason for the craze.
One funny thing about this is that many people are forgetting the capitalist economy ain't come into the fray yet.

When the tech biggies start entering this race with the likes of Microsoft, Google, IBM, Apple etc, the process will make it notably more expensive than the average person can afford. Thus, making it accessible to what a wealthy few or corporations can afford. Las las tech is definitely producing more billionaires and the industry would soon dominate the world's richest in a decade.

I've had chatGPT write a short story before...
It can do this...

But you're missing our point. AI can try all it wants to mimic human touch but it can never fully do it...cos it's not human.
Look at movies with masterpiece emotional impacts, movies that peer into the human mind...
Masterpiece movies that steer your mind like Inception...

An AI cannot write that...AI is bland of human emotions

Do you know you can detect an AI's writing even without an app?
I've used Ai's to write things before...so I can sometimes detect when a script was written by AI...

For example, a girl on Twitter was called out some days back, she later posted an apology letter on her Twitter.
The moment I saw that letter, I knew it was written by an AI...and not by herself

I checked her profile and sure enough, some of her old tweets shows she uses chatGPT

You can use AI to try to mimic human writing but it won't fôol a sharp eye... Because AI is devoid of emotions...but human writing has emotions

Look at the image below...I couldnt find the unedited image again cos the tweet was deleted...but you can obviously see it was written by an AI

You seem to be forgetting one important thing here, AI isn't stuck, it'd continue learn and advance and with each advancement comes perfection. It's just a matter of time and you wouldn't be able to tell which is human and which is A.I

Okay, make we dey observe.
My opinions is based on my experience and how I view life and technology development.

AI singing in Jay Z's voice doesn't look breathtaking or something new to me. There have been movies where protagonists clone the voice of a villain they're about to steal something from. Those spy movies with voice recognition tech to unlock a closely guarded treasure etc.

Okay... We'll be here waiting for the day "AI will steal jobs from writers, directors and actors". grin grin
