Were such companies breaking into the 11% ten years and longer ago? You also need to ask if the structure on inward usd flow has been Nigerianized or if it still depends on extractive international markets.? Well the truth is that Nigerian remittances ( read human capital) are now higher than oil receipts. In the property market you are seeing yields in abule egba and Yaba besting luxury properties in ikoyi and lekki. Small professional housing is now a better investment than luxury apartments. All prior paradigms are being upended even digital banking. This is probably why in the last year, Nigeria attracted more VC funding than anywhere else in Africa.

What I am saying is that structurally the Nigerian economy is in better shape than it was before. The HDI is a lagging indicator for inflow and earnings distribution. Over the next 8 years you will see the positive impact of nigerianized usd inflows. Are we seeing home made improvements in health care? Yes!. The remaining problem is rooted in the poor educational experience and sense of entitlement of the Nigerian youth. That is the huge mountain to be cured because there are so many of them.
