He is not
He is. Individual is different from shares owned by subsidiary of a publicly owned bank like UBA. Do not let this kind of thing turn into a debate, not good for you wink

I actually prefer that Tony Elumelu retain the control of Transcorp and this kind of challenge should make him reward his shareholders better with capital appreciation and dividends.
He is not
Largest "Individual" shareholder and largest shareholder do not mean the same thing.

The Largest shareholder is the UBA Holdings which is a company made up of hundreds of investors.

Otedola as a human being holds the largest share to himself.

He is the highest individual shareholder.

I won't reply you anymore.

When you talk of Individual, Femi Otedola now owns the largest share in Transcorp.

Emphasis on Individual.

The only other shareholder with over five per cent ownership of the company is UBA Nominees which owns about 9.25per cent of the company as of 2022 from 9.26 per cent reported in 2021.

Both Femi Otedola and Tony Elumelu are not billionaires in USD.
Only in Naira.

It is amazing that TikTok has a higher valuation than Transcorp.
TikTok made over US$1 billion in profits in 2022.

Dangote Group has a higher valuation than Transcorp.

If yes, then why did he have an individual shares in his name in Transcorp before which is different from UBA nominee shares?

Before now:
—We have Elumelu shares as an individual (largest shares by individual)
—We have UBA nominee shares as a group shares (Largest shares overall)

Then Otedola came in:
—Became the largest individual shareholder while displacing Elumelu as individual largest share.
—UBA nominee still retained the largest shares. (Still retained the largest share overall)

Otedola is the highest "individual" shareholder. The highest shareholder is the UBA. UBA holds the largest share as a company/ corporate personality not a human person. Elumelu himself does not control 100% of UBA stocks.
your explanation is tight, he might not even control up to 40% of Uba stocks

Management of First Bank denied it for almost 2 weeks.

SEC and Nigeria Stock Exchange will soon as CSCS and the Registrar of Transcorp to show the current share holding structure of Transcorp

I have come to realise that our people get money no mean say you get money.Imagine these guys are Nigerians,a country regarded as the poverty capital of the world.Well they can only do the best the can to solve this problem with the enormous wealth they have. But poverty reduction through economic growth is the work of government through sound economic policies.

Transcorp that is a dead conglomerate.

A very dead brand from the onset.

Femi, has some old accumulations from Nigeria's crude reserves but he is not so much a wise investor.

He was a FBN, and he left. . Where is his outlay in Forte/AP?

He got his significant wealth from the oil block that FG allocated to him. . Not that he was so inventive or creative.
When did a governor of a state (Lagos state) start awarding oil licenses — especially not even in Lagos. Sef!

Na wao!
