I could remember when the project was flagged-off by Obiano to build the international convention centre in Awka 10,000 seating capacity many called white elephant project, this convention centre is biggest in Nigeria and now hosting series of events.


Currently Association of national accountants of Nigeria are holding their event there

The massive convention centre has many smaller halls

Last weekend was big glamorous society wedding held at Awka International convention centre, before now this kind of event will be taken to Abuja or Lagos

NGIGE, OBIANO and now SOLUDO all did great work as governor of Anambra state

The issue with that kind of project is priority and cost. Most of the critical needs of the people are abandoned for huge project without serious impact on 75% of the population. Imagine when billions are spent on airports, govt house, guest house etc while the rural areas are without Water, roads, security, functional education, poor healthcare etc. The billions spent on elite test can fix the rural areas and reduce poverty. The poverty in Nigeria is as a result of expenditures that are elite driven.

Maintenance culture is always the problem.

Those that doesn't understand how massive this center is look at it when it was under construction and see how tiny those trucks look inside the main hall, this is the biggest event centre in Nigeria now

The centre also hosted Anambra fashion Expo 2022, very soon ANVC award

Obi laid foundations of Anambra State development, he built and also started many projects and was prudent with resources and left enough savings, if he placed Anambra on huge debt it would have been hard for his successors just like some APC governors

The centre is 10,000 seating capacity, a place that hosted 5,000 teachers and guests still have more space, mind you it still have mini halls within

Its no secret that Obi's performance as Governor buries that of tinubu performance as Governor of Lagos whose foundation for development had been laid down already by the whites.
