Is it so hard for Plateau United to establish their own u-15 team? I remember last year, they also used an academy team to represent them..

It's a simple question, city isn't playing the quarter finals for the first time. But when city played the CL finals for the first time they lost to a Chelsea team that had played in three finals before.

Go back 🔙 to my posts and you will find out quite easily as I mentioned them in a comparison to the Lowly Segunda division.

But I did specific comparison with Sheffield Wednesday who play in league one, beat a full strength Newcastle United team in the FA .

Until two weeks ago Sheffield Wednesday had the longest unbeaten record this season in all tiers of European football ⚽.

In addition it's possible Sheffield Wednesday have more Nigerian origin players in their first team squad than any other team in England.

Lower division teams beat top division teams in cup competitions all the time, so you dont really have a point. Despite all the upsets, when last did a lower division team win the English FA or league cup?

Yeah exactly. It's all gradual. Imagine the number of CL semifinals Chelsea under Jose Mourinho got to, only to be knocked out by Liverpool in the semifinals. There was a time Chelsea was knocked out by Barcelona in the semifinals and that was probably the most painful exit. Then came avram grant final lose to Man united

Tell me a how many Segundo division teams made it to the last 8 of the Copa del Rey❓

Tell me a Tercera División team that beat any La Liga top 6 team please.❓❓

It happens in England quite often but not in Spain by comparison to Segundo and Tercera Divisions.

I bet you will not answer the two question raised.

Most goals scored by a Nigerian in a single #UCL campaign:

Yakubu Aiyegbeni - 5
Obafemi Martins - 5
Victor Osimhen - 5 🆕

Osimhen joins an elite company 👏🏽

I think Osimhen would be sensational in Bundesliga playing for bayern. I mean, just look at the chances they created against City. Massive upgrade on Choupo-Moting

but I still don't understand why he would wanna go there to play in Bundesliga anyway. Playing against the likes of Bochum and Augsburg on a weekly basis and only really looking forward to the CL matches, I can't imagine that would tempt him more than Premier League, especially when you got several clubs there drooling over him, willing to pay an even higher salary than Bayern München would.

my verdict; I don't see Bayern paying what Napoli asks for, but I believe that Osimhen would consider Bayern. A team that plays to his strengths and hides his weaknesses, plus guarantee trophies and champions league.
What's there not to like ?

Samir Nasri on the racism towards Rafael Leão:

🗣️ “Napoli supporters have Osimhen, what does that mean? We are in 2023! It should no longer exist. Instead of doing UEFA or FIFA 'No to racism' campaigns, they have to take sanctions against the clubs.”

I'm not sure what the details are, but they have some sort of agreement with Mees Palace Academy. Mees Palace runs a solid academy from U10 to U17 or so, perhaps Plateau United feel like they would be unable to match them in terms of recruitment, structure, etc. Many of our government owned clubs seem to be struggling in this regard.

Oh wow,so does that mean that we can infer that the league one is better than the EPL, since Sheffield Wednesday beat a full strength top 4 team in the EPL. One luv chief!!!!

When Newport County beat Leicester City in the Cup , do you think that means League two is better than the EPL.❓❓

What deduction can you make from that , wise man.

My own deduction sir is, that is called an upset and really an exception and as such I won't base the quality of the EPL based on that result. Similarly because Sheffield Wednesday got the better of Newcastle, it doesn't mean that SW is better than Newcastle or the League 1 better than the EPL. Therefore no one can conclusively make an assumption that League 1 has to be better than the segunda because of those upsets you brought into the discussion.

Komekn said two things implying the upset (yes, still an upset) was not a fluke. I’ve not been following all of this convo, so have not taken any side yet.

Modified

But a good run by one club does not tell all the story..

he’s on the bench of late because of not agreeing to a new deal. His current contract expires at the end of the season

Moffi x Orban x Boniface Time: UEL and UECL Action.

So we saw Victor Osimhen (VO9) mark his "full match return" from injury with a top header against Milan in UCL action even though it wasn't enough to see them through to the Semis.
Well, consolation is Osimhen now has 9 Headers for the season and I predicted 10 since August... hehehe... also on 26 goals in 31 games across all competitions this season and he is definitely gonna finish strong in Serie A, lifting the Scudetto and will be inevitably crowned Capocannoniere and MVP.

Now attention shifts to other Naija attacking warriors on European Competition Action...

Gift Orban and Gent will look to draw some inspiration from Polish Side, Lech Poznan who are currently schooling Fiorentina big time in Italy despite losing the first leg in Poland, 4-1. Madness in Italy, I tell you. Insane game.

Orban vs West Ham Part 2 tonight.

Terem Moffi and his sweet left foot will look to help Nice bury Basel today in France after their 2-2 draw in Switzerland from the first leg.

Victor Boniface will look to continue his impressive vein of form in the UEL and he hopes to lead his Brave Belgian side to knock out a solid Xabi Alonso-tutored Bundesliga side in Bayer Leverkusen. Good thing Boniface and co will be at home but they gotta make it count for something.
