Twitter Removes Buhari, Tinubu, Obi, Others’ Verification Badges (pix by Islie(op): 8:20am On Apr 21, 2023

Twitter has removed verification badges of prominent Nigerians including President Muhammadu Buhari, Bola Tinubu, Peter Obi, among others.

Checks by TRIBUNE ONLINE on Thursday showed that the verification badges on their account have been removed.

This comes on the heels of rebranding by Twitter Chief Executive Officer, Elon Musk, who had announced the final date for the free Blue badge removal via his verified account badges to be on April 20, 2023.

Further checks revealed many celebrities are also affected by the development.

They should all pay if they want the blue tick. The era of using blue tick to oppress others is gone. We are all equal on the Twitter street. No more carrying shoulder and feeling like you know more than others simply because of Twitter verification.
