These reckless drivers need to be charged for manslaughter and sentenced for yearssss ... only then they would be careful. Until then ... no consequences... they do anyhow. He ran away because he knows the consequences he will face from the public.

No death record but its a very risky of job to do.

So many trucks on our roads are not roadworthy. It's surprising that there are agencies charged with ensuring that vehicles are roadworthy but who are only interested in roger. Whether the roads are vehicle worthy is a different story entirely.

It was a Bua truck conveying Bags of pastas. The accident happened Round 9:30 to 10 there-about. The hausa or fulani driver having descended from the obirikwere fly-over was on full speed, (I don't know if this is his first time plying the route, because a driver should know that traffic starts from that AP filling station, till you've passed rumuekini junction due the the roadside sellers and illegal loading of cars, busses and bikes.)

The driver seem to have lost control of the steering and had no option but to crash-climb onto the sidewalk kerb, on doing so, the trailer fell on a mother and and children. (some eye witnesses said 4 children some said 2.) one of the toddler died instantly, while the mother and another child was rushed to the hospital unconscious.

The driver and his motor boys took off instantly. When the crowd gathered, one of the motors boys came back think he wont be identified. For the timely response of senior people he would have been lynched.

This happened on Saturday.

I totally understood everything here because i usually ply that terrain all the time. From your writeup, it's obvious the driver was trying to avoid casualties as best as possible, it's very unfortunate that a young child died.

We thank God for his mercies because the casualties would have been higher.

That rumuosi/rumuekini junction always has hold up so the driver descending from the flyover on full speed is strange but thank God he tried climbing the curb cos if he had driven into cars or market women na scores of death bodies them for evacuate this morning.

Over speeding is never good.
The harm it can cause far outweighs the fulfillment it gives the driver.

Yes the drivers trying to minimize the casualties. If not so more people would of died because that junction is very busy around that time.

Break failure is a very bad thing. The truck could have picked up speed very fast due to load & slope of the road. Investigation needs to be done before saying the accident was caused because the driver oversped.

RIP to the young lad & speedy recovery to the injured.

These trailer drivers like smoking Oshogbo weed and Alomo bitters before hitting the road that's why they misdrive

What the driver did was professional, meanwhile, once you are driving and get close to junctions or residence or even in the forest high ways - please be patience, reduce your speed.

The driver pull over to save more lives great! He also disapered, great! He saved more lives and save himself because jobless and illiterate Nigerians who are just waiting to pour out their anger and frustration due to failure in life out by jungle justice, I don't know oh, till I finish in life, I can never partispate in killing my fellow human, even if you kill my child. I can never be a murderer no matter what. I rather pursue legal justice.

My dear, no professional in Driving, if you travel well, you will see that drivers are trying, you can be driving Nigeria road for good 5years, if not careful enough, you will encounter problems, I remember 2012, if I did not die then, no man can kill me until its time.

Their was a time Agoferi and Peace Motors drivers kept killing people by accident - as usual many Nigerians due to their weak brain thinking said it was their way to sacrifice for the company lol...
Until the company employ more drivers to reduce stress for the rest and the accident stopped.

Don't even go near truck drivers, to move a truck from North to South without falling off the reaer is a big job.
Let's thank God for less casualties.
And please, people should try as much as possible to stay meters away from any road. No one can tell emergency times.
