The kind suffer wey many common Nigerians go suffer after the Nigeria useless government done finally remove this scam called fuel subsidy ehn, nor be here o.

Imagine the Nigeria government funding and even obtaining loans on behalf of Dangote refinery. Same refinery that was built by pass government that this present useless Nigeria government(especially that of Buhari) can't even maintain, is what they are now funding and obtaining loans on behalf of Dangote refinery for. Nigeria matter loud

Government officials embezzling the money made for public projects has been the reason Nigeria is where it is today and not because of subsidy. I was hoping that Buhari was going to fix those issues when he became president. But no, the old man rather ended up becaming the worst president Nigeria ever had since existence.

The Nigeria useless government are just
suffering the poor masses for nothing, and what surprises me most is that most Nigerians are even comfortable with the suffering. They all know where the problems is but they rather prefer suffering the poor masses than fixing it.

Nor be fuel subsidy dey hold Nigeria from developing or making Nigerians not to enjoy those good things the citizens of those advance countries are enjoying, but the embezzlement of public fund by the government of all sectors in the country. And if those embezzlement don't stop, removing of subsidy or not will not change anything but rather add more suffering upon common Nigerians.
thank you

Dangote has fuked them up. They put all their hopes on his refinery not knowing it can't be completed until 2025. Who knows they might even extend the date again to 2030 cheesy cheesy

If Dangote is not careful, that refinery might end up as white elephant project. He is already paying 700 million as interest on loans and has continued to borrow endlessly. He has even exceeded his limit for borrowings yet completion date is not in sight!

I don't see subsidy being removed, especially not when a questionable and unpopular government like that of Tinubu takes over. Obi might even contemplate it considering he still enjoys massive support and control of social media narrative.

If Tinubu is inaugurated as president and he dares remove subsidy, his government will collapse within 6 months.
How will it collapse??..if dem call you out for protest will you come out to protest
Who are the people majorly on protest grounds…the agbero’s…and who controls them

Sir, those refineries were built with the tech available those days and that's why they keep having problems maintaining it. So saying they are out of date in in order. Also bear in mind those refineries were built for a certain population and with population explosion we are witnessing, they simply won't serve.
That's not correct. They are not serious about maintaining the refineries because of other interests.
And the refineries combine can cater to Nigeria's fuel needs definitely

So why cant we build? If Dangote can start building, why cant Nigeria as a nation build? Yet we spend so much on frivolities, waste on politicians and have a ton stolen by humans....why? It is so unreasonable.

Remember one time that the banking sector was given a mandate that for any bank to operate in the country they must have a reserve of about 20 billion then? A lot that couldnt meet up merged. Why cant the FG give the oil sector a mandate to own refineries or even build one for the nation? E really get as e be. The country is such a disappointment! Soon Dangote will do to oil what he did to sugar when he had monopoly of the product. It is so sad!
The oil sector gave a condition for refineries to be built…Subsidy must go!!!!!!

So they are the ones paying the subsidy on behalf of the govt at the moment? What was Dangote's condition for building one? The country makes the rules not them! If Nigeria is serious, we would have had quite a number of refineries by now!

Dangote should have gone for a European build.

The initial cost would have been higher, but quality would be better and time frame for completion would have been more certain.

It seems he went for a predominantly Indian managed option.

Indians are not reknowned for being the best in delivering this kind of mega project. Now, the project will probably cost far more.

If this report is correct, the Chinese have now been invited to help complete the project. They might want to start start some designs and fabrications afresh.

I suspect the Indians have made some big errors with the project and can't find a way out.

Which kind wahala is this now

And Nigerians have put all their economic hope in Dangote refinery.

This is going to make Tinubu's already challenging task even harder.

Your post got me thinking of a write up I read 4/5 years ago on this refinery. The write up having pictures was about 500 Nigerian dangote staffs on their way to India for technical training. As a layman it got me wondering why 500 staffs at a haul on a project that is no where near completion

according to the article, it is Dangote who now depends on the govt for so much. I hope that's not true and the refinery kicks off operation soon.

Anyone over 25 can no longer be educated... to free themselves of ignorance they must seek out knowledge on their own.

Anyway maybe you can start by googling how refineries make sales at least that will cure the ignorant talk of Dangote wont sell to SE and MB.

It's shamefully strange that the FG is depending on Dangote's Refinery, instead of seriously working on how to put our refineries into shape as well as turning bunkery ones into mini-refineries!
#Maybe our leaders have vested interest in Dangote's Refinery.

Subsidy fraud necessitate the removal of subsidy. How can Nigeria subsidies fuel for the entire west Africa? The quantity of fuel alledged to have been subsidies by Nigerian government is far more than the quantity consumed by the United States with far more cars than it's available in the entire west Africa. This is absurdly fraudulent.

The right time to remove subsidy is the time government are able to provide sustaining environment for the public otherwise , we are in for a long ride. The poor masses , which is the largest population will feel it most
.
Tinubu will never remove the subsidy until enabling environment is achieved. He will keep giving excuse upon excuse till the right time to remove it .
