Sometimes I clean my phone with hand sanitizer. I dont know if its right or not.

It's just the material used in making it. It eventually gets that way. Barely using you phone in daylight causes that coloration (the case absorbs UV light).

I'm not saying our phones are the cleanest stuff, but as a scientist, I'll need a swab from both your toilet seat, and phone to investigate the amount, and most importantly, the types of bacteria on them.

From our head to toes, both internally and externally are full of microorganisms. Most of the microorganisms are good ones and help us remain alive. Normally, you'll find them plenty in your kitchen, pot, food, etc. You'll also find then in your toilet, etc. It's most likely not going to be a big deal if micros from your phone get into your stomach, but if the ones in your toilet, for example, get into your system, e go be wahala.

We romance our phones daily, go and be romancing any public toilet seat daily and see how it goes

They failed to mentioned that most bacteria on the phone are recognized by the body, hence, the immune takes care of them easily.

Those toilet bact are always new like who spends the whole day in toilet like we hold our phone all time.

If those toilet bact get into body, e fit cause problem even if one has a strong immune.

Many of us have access to wipes which is the easiest and cheapest one can use as the moisture isn't that much to affect the phone. Also the antibacterial in it would do well to kill any germs on the phone.

Whenever I see anything wipes and I have my laptop and phone with me, I always make sure I clean to the extent people around me now try to do the same thing.

Toilet is more damp than our phones which is actually very dry. As such, it's a fertile land for microorganisms than our phone.

Toilet is a place we deposit waste such as faeces, urine, sweat etc which the only thing that deposits on our phone is sweat.

I get extremely irritated when I see someone putting a phone that has torch in the mouth.
It is the most dirty and annoying spectacle to view. Is the person a baby? Tufiakwa!

The problem is not the amount of bacteria.

The problem is the kind of bacteria present.

A phone may have more bacteria than a toilet seat, but a toilet seat has far deadlier bacteria than a normal phone, and this is where the problem is.

Good reason to use a water resistant phone like recent iPhones. I always wash mine with soap and water every now then after using in the toilet

Op I get where you're coming from, but I do clean my TECNO device often with alcohol based sanitizer, especially after the whole pandemic thing.
