How much did other countries pay for same bus services?
I am sure it is not up to half of what Nigeria is paying. Reason is because majority of the money is going into the pocket of those in charge of the exercise

No need to ask. Many of these critics have never seen war. They only see it on tv. In the news or in a movie. In a real life situation where you have to convey people safely especially by road and more especially in this Africa, you must have more than enough cash to grease palms because checkpoints will be more than tripled. The reason for the buses is cos they are being evacuated to Egypt. It is a very complicated procedure.

There’s no place they explained how the negotiation was done in the write up above.

A lot of transport companies will jump at half the price to deliver the service

Everything in the country is an opportunity to loot, sadly
The Truth Is That An Average Nigerian See It As Opportunity To Make Money Of The System.
Corruption Stinks!!!.

C130s have no seats which means that Nigeria plans to airlift its citizens on a 4-hour journey sitting on the bare floor while there are free Boeing 747s in the Air Peace fleet to comfortably ferry them home safely.
Do you know what cargo aircraft are, and when they spend money chartering Boeings you'll call them thieves, do you know how many people a single cargo aircraft can carry compared to a single Boeing?

Sometimes reason before you talk, and you won't have made this statement clouded by sentiments and ignorance.

Are they telling us for we to pay them back or what? Have they ever explain to us how they use the oil money and many other funds made for the development of the country? Very funny people.

So buses are charging around $40k to convey foreigners across the boarder. How many buses did Nigerian government hire to transport it's citizens? Are they up to 30?

Buhari's way of ending democracy in Nigeria is unique: the election umpire he appointed ignores the electoral act and his regulation stipulated for the presidential election, uses a method unknown to voters to produce a president-elect.
Buhari swears in president-elect as president, not minding the fact that no amount of talk can make people come out to vote in future elections. End of Democracy in Nigeria.

Ok now it's starting to make sense. Not excusing the government of not being wasteful but this particular expense is justified.

Madam, they are trying to evacuate 5500 Nigerians from a warzone with combatants that do not subscribe to the Geneva convention, and who have shot at other convoys. Right now Sudan is full of convoys (un, us, UK, Canada) all trying to get from Khartoum to bordering countries for airlift.

The bad part of it is no matter what a lot of people have already been left behind.

On a good day we know how transporters are during Xmas and sallah. Now imagine how it will be in a situation where there is actual risk and they have to settle rebels for safe passage.
Re: Sudan War: How We Negotiated $1.2m To Hire Buses — FG by SmartyPants(m): 11:27am On Apr 30, 2023
I've read that transporters are charging $40k per bus. Sometimes we need to give our government a break - they do good just as they do bad. Let's applaud the good while condemning the bad not condemning both together.

Another corruption! What were you thinking when the US, China and others sent their country planes to evacuate their nationals? Now you are hiring buses to take out your citizens @ inflated costs.
Stop posting rubbish for your fellow gullible mumus.
The US citizens are still in Sudan. They only evaluated the diplomats. The US told the citizens to
Stay in place. You people will just be lying up and down simply because your sorry incompetent candidate lost.

Why are we so cynical in Nigeria? Even though government officials can be irresponsible, we still need to verify things before jumping into conclusion.

The U.S. have not evacuated their citizens from Sudan. They only evacuated their diplomats and embassy staff. In fact, the evacuation cost them millions of dollars.

Don't allow ignorant folks to deceive you. Evacuations cost a lot of money, especially if they're carried out in a war zone.

Stop saying what you don't know.
You us the pictures of US and China sending planes to evacuate their citizens inside Sudan.

The Airport in Khartoum has been bombed and badly damaged, so where will the planes land?

They won't tell you. I watched on channelstv where a student narrated how they contributed money to get themselves out of Sudan to Egypt by road. APC is far worse than the pdp. It was aba moro's NCS recruitment saga in which he made several millions of Naira from sale of employment form that shocked me, which was supposed to be distributed free of charge and he deposited the money in David Mark's wife's account. This evacuation fraud is even more shocking. 1.2m usd multiplied by 740 naira...that's bizarre.

Blind peeps would still defend this fraud. I just pity Onyema of a man. Nigeria doesn't deserve pity under the apc-led administration because it won't be appreciated, exceptnhe just wanted to do it for God's sake. He'd lose billions under this evacuation arrangement while a selected few would smile home with billions of naira.
now you pity onyema now right, couple of days ago people were calling for Abike Dabiri's head until the lady came out to say her agency did not get a dime from the said money ditto when sane thing happened in Ukraine... War or no war how can we spend that amount of money on 13 busses to convey people from Sudan to Egypt for heavens sake?
