Certainly, Christians who miss the rapture will pass through great tribulation. They are the saints mentioned in Revelation 7:9-17.

But the mark of the beast will not yet be revealed. The mark of the beast will be instituted during the reign of the anti Christ which will happen many years after God is through with the church.

It will happen during the second great tribulation period which concerns the Jews alone.

I am bored, so let's break this down a bit. Let's in fact see what Paul said in the passage you referenced.

13 Brothers and sisters, we want you to know about those who have died. We don’t want you to be sad like other people—those who have no hope.
14 We believe that Jesus died, but we also believe that he rose again. So we believe that God will raise to life through Jesus any who have died and bring them together with him when he comes.
15 What we tell you now is the Lord’s own message. Those of us who are still living when the Lord comes again will join him, but not before those who have already died.
16 The Lord himself will come down from heaven with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. And the people who have died and were in Christ will rise first.

Notice in the above context that Paul says absolutely nothing of those who were not caught up in the air being Evil or anything of the sort you lot like to imagine? To assume that all those who are not caught up in this catching up described are evil beings is ridiculous, and of lie. It will also be equally ridiculous from what is written to assume that all those who were caught up are Good people, again, since Paul never in fact stated this to be the case.

Exactly how are the events expressed in Revelations 6 connected directly to the same time and events described by Paul in 1 Thessalonians 4? What is the connection between these two events really?

The Lamb — Jesus Christ — in the above passage is said to be in Heaven opening seals, whereas, Paul's account has it instead that Jesus Christ came down to the earth in his telling of events relating to the catching up in 1 Thessalonians 4. So, how exactly are both events connected to the same time stream or taking place a the same point?

1. 1 Corinthians 7 says absolutely none of what is pretended here. Second, the catching up described by Paul takes place after, not before, the resurrection has taken place. And only those who have eternal life — are born again in Jesus Christ— will be resurrected. So, if your kids are not born-again, they will not be resurrected — they will simply perish in the grave. And no, being born again is more than simply reciting some lines and prayers so likely your kids will not be born again.

Jesus Christ was asked two questions based on claims He made in the first part of the same chapter.

1. Jesus left the Temple area and was walking away. But his followers came to him to show him the Temple’s buildings.
2 He asked them, “Are you looking at these buildings? The fact is, they will be destroyed. Every stone will be thrown down to the ground. Not one stone will be left on another.”

The information found in verse 23 through the rest of the chapter applies as far as Question #2 which concerns the coming back of Jesus Christ, and as you can see, the false messiahs and prophets arrived beginning from the time of the destruction of Jerusalem, and they have continued since then and will until the time of the return.

Now, to Paul's statement in 2 Thessalonians 2, if you pay attention, you will find that Paul does not in fact state that any of what He describes here will happen at the end since Paul was speaking of what was to take place from his own time forward. This means some or all of what he wrote of may have in fact taken place almost 2000 years ago.

1. Brothers and sisters, we have something to say about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. We want to talk to you about the time when we will meet together with him.
2 Don’t let yourselves be easily upset or worried if you hear that the day of the Lord has already come. Someone might say that this idea came from us—in something the Spirit told us, or in something we said, or in a letter we wrote.
3 Don’t be fooled by anything they might say. That day of the Lord will not come until the turning away from God happens. And that day will not come until the Man of Evil appears, the one who belongs to hell.
4 He will stand against and put himself above everything that people worship or think is worthy of worship. He will even go into God’s Temple and sit there, claiming that he is God.
5 I told you before that all these things would happen. Remember?

If you compare what Paul said to what Jesus Christ said in His Gospels of what is to take place at the time of God's judgment against Jerusalem, also found in Matthew 24, in addition to Daniel's prophecies regarding the same, you will find very many similarities.

So, I guess OP I should ask you what it is that leads you to conclude that Paul's views in the above passage connect to his statements recorded in 1 Thessalonians 4?

Please always consider every verse in its correct context

11 Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war.

The passage above clearly, does not tell of enforcement of what you call the mark of the beast, but rather the punishment of the beast whose marked was previously enforced at some point in time. For all we know, that mark may have instead been enforced beginning almost 2000 years ago.
