The major problem here is when Wike got involved and Tinubu's people like Oshiomole, Fayemi, Gbajabiamila and co started coming to PH to woo Wike when he had problem with Atiku and PDP.

Wike got in and Tinubu showed signs of preferring Wike to Amaechi.

Because it was clear Amaechi has no influence on Rivers votes , instead he drove Tinubu’s ally Abe out of APC.

I forgot to add that not only does he have no electoral value, he was working for Atiku. This is the reason Cole was snubbed by Tinubu when he won and he came to visit.

By going to the Senate, Oshiomhole practically revealed his state of mind viz;

1) The uncertainty and favourability of the outcome of the Presidential election.

Throughout the 8 years tenure of Buhari, Tinubu didn't interfere with his government other than nominating Osinbajo as VP. After primaries
Amaechi/Emefiele and Osinbajo with there likes formed a caucus against Tinubu. And Amaechi has shown his body language to Tinubu that he's not going to work for him.
