Ugbade is part of the problem. We posed more threats when we played short passes. But he had them throwing long nonsense all through.

Morocco's counter attacks in the second half made our midfield run out of steam as they had to run back and forth repeatedly. And yet, while the Moroccan coach used almost all his subs, Ugbade could only make one sub until 80 mins before making another single one.

Is it that Ugbade only picked 11 good players and sold the remaining slots to unfieldable carpenters?

Your last Paragraph is probably what happened.

But the these folks are just greedy. At least pick 15 good players out of 21. 11 starters and 4 good ones you can always bring in to change the game. then you can sell the remaining 6 slots to mechanic footballers.

But no, they'll only come with 8 good players who qualified on Merit, while selling the remaining one. Game go hang, you won't be able to sub, because there's nothing to sub without reducing quality of play.

This shit has been going on since 2017 up to 2019. Covid gave them a break, now we are back.

I remember the DSS son issue that time, going to the world cup

He didn't but he got the WC ticket and moulded a team capable of not only playing beautiful but finishing up chances. Plus they had decent benches and made the right tactical subs.

Same way Manu didn't with Amunike & Ugbade as his assistants in 2013 but also got the WC ticket and gave us a team that still stands historical till date.

The bottomline: Both sets went on to win the WC coz they improved on what they showed at the Afcon and the qualifiers.

Now, a deeper angle...

Manu did it with Amunike and Ugbade as assistants. They won it together in 2013.

Amunike did it on his own with a separate assistant in 2015 and WON!!!

Manu had the chance on his own in 2019 and FAILED at the WC.

Now Ugbade has his chance on his own in 2023 and started very well at the WafuB but he hasn't been able to raise a midfield as good as what we saw at the WafuB and the team is suffering dearly for it at thus Afcon. Time will tell on Ugbade to see if he matches Amunike or like Manu fails when when they all went alone.

Did Amuneke win the AFCON? So chill. He did not even qualify the under 20. So Siasia is still his master, right?

And we all know why Amunike's U20 didn't qualify. The one match they lost in over 20 games including both Qualifiers and friendlies was against Sudan thanks to the incompetence of the NFF. So rest on that issue you keep bringing up time and again as if you are ignorant of the truth.

Just look the statistics for this game. The Moroccans didn't even score a goal. We did that for them. 🤣🤣

They just fought, parked the bus and inshallah! And ofcos us not taking our chances helped nail our own coffin.

27 Bloody Attempts producing Zero Goals. Nooo Ugbade, you need to correct this.

Not just Nachos team. Osimhen's team. Football intelligence ran throughout both teams.

The only time this current team showed it in abundance was at the Wafu B when we had those 4 midfielders but it is as if without them, the team lacks direction and intelligence. It is glaring that those 4 lads helped coordinate all that was good with this team at the Wafu B. This just emphasises the importance of a truly good midfield department.

The team at this Afcon just wanna bloody rush every decision in the final third that it is so irritating

Yahaya Danjuma Lawali wins MOTM for the second game in a row.

Yes, he had a top game. Flying up and down that right and putting some balls into the box. Also inverted into midfield in some phases of play to drive us forward when needed but in the end, we just didn't get that goal.

Your dont need to go that far.

Go to any EPL Academy and you will see small boys hitting the ball with power accuracy and ferocity.

My thoughts as well. The early goal they conceded panicked them. You also 100% right that they need to function as a team not every time relying on individual display of skills. Ugbade get plenty work.

Will Amuneke won without Nwakali and Kingley Micheal in midfield? His bench was porous that Nwakali and Oshimen had to play every single minutes. Ugbade has one of the best team in the competition despite 4 players absent. Amuneke could not even raise a proper under 20 team still had to rely mostly on the under 17 boys. He could not raise a good defence which Ugbade has managed to do.

That's the point. He groomed a midfield that stayed within MRI test measures. Have you any idea the players he also lost due to MRI? Amunike still managed to find his core and ensured they were within MRI limit standards. He had a backup plan.

He gave us Osimhen, Nwakali, Michael, Orji and even had a Chinedu Madueke who assisted Osimhen in the final. His bench wasn't porous. You just didn't know the team deeply.

Ugbade actually lost 5 players (add Ogwor in defence) but this isn't the first time we are dealing with such. The 2013 set faced this. Amunike faced this. Every other previous U17 side faced this dilemma since the MRI era began fully in 2011. So don't make it look like it is unique to Ugbade.

And again, stop spitting fallacies on Amunike's U20 side. He even added Gavi Thompson to that team from the U17 of 2015.
So a coach that coached an U17 team in a certain year shouldn't call up the core of the boys He coached 2 years prior? What are you even saying? Lol

Amunike's team also had a good defence. John Lazarus was what Yahaya Lawali is right now. How can you forget this? Lol
We also had Udochukwu Anumudu's defensive solidity and his sweet left foot.
Lukman Zakari was a rock too and at a point went to Betis but fell away from there.

Even the 2013 class had a decent enough defence in Musa Mohammed and Aliyu Abubakar (Solid CB then) + Zaharadeen Bello but what became of them at the highest level??

It is rather our attacking talents that seem to be making headway into the Euro Leagues, with the midfield talents floating or trying to get by in Europe while the defensive talents disappear or stay stuck in the local leagues or the African continent or find their way to other leagues outside Europe or backwater Europe.

This Ugbade team shows promise in defence in LCB, Ogboji and The Rock Olaleke. The Fullbacks are also flying, daring & okay defensively. But we have seen it before. I only pray they go on to become players of note at the highest level or close to the highest level. So you cannot be too fast to label Ugbade as giving us a good defence when they are just starting out in their careers. A couple years from now will tell the story.

So this is the Kolo Muani that these peeps are comparing to Oshimen. Just imagine substituting their roles. Believe me nobody will even look at Oshimen! This is why most Blacks prefer playing for the colonial master! Awoniyi even did more than him when he was in Germany.

Zambia just came back from 2 goals down vs SA to level it at 2-2 with a bullet of a strike.

The Zambians beat SA twice in their Cosafa U17 Qualifiers tournament and looks like they are on course for de ja vu.

South Africa started well with 2 unreplied goals but the Zambians (I tagged them one of the strongest sides at this U17 alongside Nigeria, Senegal, Mali and Burkina Faso) have bravely and calmly clawed their way back into this. Exciting game.
