Please Nairalanders I want to ask a question.
Being a Nigerian, can I train as a truck driver in America but having visiting visa and later change it to work permit??

Yes, go for it.

Get the commercial DL from DMV and you are good to go.

If you're unmarried and are ready to work long hours, you can earn more than you can ever imagine.

Take your valid Nigerian license to DMV and apply for class C driver license.

When you get the license in a couple of weeks, approach a truck driving school and they will help you with the process of getting the commercial driver's license after your training.

I think you need to successfully complete a 15hr driving training or so.

When you get the commercial license, trucking companies will not hesitate to hire and help you with work permit especially in California but they may underpay you for a while.

Goodluck and don't let anything hold you down.

this is very useful information. I didn't even know you could do that on a visit visa. Kudos for sharing 👍
