I wish everyone will desist from pitying Ekweremadu
And bash him back to back to serve as a deterrent to our wicked, selfish, demonic and heartless politicians in Nigeria.
This is the same man who went to Germany sometimes ago as a deputy Senate President, and Nigerians came out enmass to beat him up.
If he was a good leader and representative would all these befall him

Did you just say his power is ceremonial? Lol, he is more powerful than even the Prime minister. Lol, King is the Head of State, just that they don't flaunt thier powers unless very necessary. Just like the Ayatollah Khoemeni of Iran.

-Meanwhile, this case as the first of Theresa May's signature law - The Modern Slavery Act 2015 - it will be studied in British law schools and sited in both academic and business sectors for many years.

-Congratulations to the Ekweremadu family. You have entered British law history books forever.
😅😅😅 Oh the ignominy!!😀

Even if he's going to be pardoned, it can't be so soon.

Probably served about 4 years before being considered.

This one is totally ignorant on how the UK works. The King has NO such power. He's role is purley cerimonial. There no concept as 'Pardon' in the UK, only parole. With good behaviour Ike can be released after half his sentence has been served

Before typing, try to research. Don't just be in a haste to discredit anybody.

It can never happen. Nigerians don’t understand how big trafficking is for the British. Charles will not start his reign by antagonizing the British public, it is not as if he is popular with his people but benefitting from the goodwill towards his mother. William is the one the people love and are waiting to be King.

He has the power but he will not grant any pardon to Ekweremadu. Ekweremadu is the 1st person to be convicted of human trafficking under the new law, it is bad optics for Charles to pardon him …it sets his reign on a bad footing.

It's possible. I was just laughing at our lazy national assembly and the African parliament when they were asking the UK for clemency over ekweremadu and Co before sentencing, as if they were ignorant of law.

So he can set a bad example for his country abi? We are so Nigerian! So sentimental and corrupt! If only we enforce consequences, the dreadful family wouldnt have offered a whole humanbeing peanuts for his vital organ. Does the girl not have siblings or extended family members that could match her? Her parents nko? Why a poor struggling boy? Well, it was their time to answer to the millions of lives ruined because of their actions and inactions when they had the opportunity. When in power and with opportunity, common beds dey hard them to buy in general hospitals let alone dialysis machines or state of the acts theatre. I hope others are learning....a day will come when all the stolen billions wont be able to hold a candle to your health, freedom or conscience!

Royal pardon for an African politician who has broken the law in the way Ekweremadu has? Are you joking? Did you read the sentencing and the opinion of the judge?

Nigerians! King Charles doesn't have the power to do that.

Allow the man to serve. UK prisons are better than Nigeria. Hi

He'd be in an executive pad. He'd have his own toilet, TV, foodstuff, and even electric kettle.
24 hours power, well equipped gym

Let him enjoy

u become an ex convict when u have served ur full convicted term by a competent court of law. Obi was only detained by the police and released. police detention doesnt make one an ex convict. recieve sense.

Keep dreaming Mr kayode the charge and bail lawyer, he is in a country where the law works and nobody is above the law. If it was in Nigeria I know charge and bailers like you would have supported him, carry placards on your head and block the road.
