Okoroawusa:It is possible he did not know. And yes, his kidney can be harvested without his knowledge. The point man--that doctor is the issue here. If your principal has a bad idea, it is your job to talk him down. Not worsen it because of greed. How much is £4K that's causing all this ruckus? The doctor himself is bigger than 4K. Ike apparently wanted it done in the UK via a legit route. He did not want kompromat if he used shadowy methods for this. Yet, he went cheap. And the doctor enabled him. Can't have it both ways. If you want to spend less than £5K on kidney transplant, do it locally. If you want the best care in a white-hat manner, spare no expense. Black-hat organ harvesting happens globally. From China to Ukraine to US. He is a made man. He had multiple options, but chose the worst. There are a lot of things you don't go cheap on when you're politically-exposed. He learned that the hard way. I have no comments about the donor. His condition is why I chose early on not to live a simple life. People of means just look at you and see a farm animal. He is neither lucky nor smart. If the transplant was done in Nigeria, he may have been killed afterwards. Cannibals and traffickers operate with impunity in this country. If the transplant was successful in the UK, he may have been killed after he returned. Even now, Ike can order a delayed hit on him from his cell. The only way to avoid being in the same situation of this young man is to be boxed up yourself. Let no one look at you, have a disturbing thought and think "nothing will happen" if he goes ahead. -Lord |

Emperor5:What do you mean is one of the problem Oga judiciary is the problem we're having in this country. The law doesn't work in Nigeria, politicians are bigger than the law here. Go to country that are progressing that's because law work 100% over there. If this case was to be treated in Nigeria ekweremadu will not even stay in jail for an hour |

I support the boy with full coverage. Ekweremadu was a selfish and desperate. He normally is. In 20years, he did nothing tangible and lasting for the east, instead he was seeking validation from the north and others. He is very useless. In 20 years, he did not tall to those people about eastern discrimination in security, economics, healthcare, transportation, etc The UK might be old, and have all these people coming and going from there, but it is a foundational principled country. They are capable of giving hope to the hopeless. This is why God helps their country. If there was a capable hospital in Nigeria, the boy might have been forced in there, probably taken his two kidneys, and dumped out on the street. If he survived and tried to make noise, they would have deleted him. So, I thank God for his life. Nigerian leaders are the most egoistic, incompetent, and the most arrogant, among all their peers world wide. I pray for long term grace on the boy's life. He should be claiming that they are attacking his direct family, so that they might bring them over to him. Ekweremadu wanted to useless his life to save his daughter. Why didn't he go to Otedola to beg him to beg cuppy to donate her kidney. He for hear, "you dey craze?". Ekweremadu wanted to take the boy to UK, take his kidney, pay him small change if any, then send him back to Nigeria; and if he acts irritated, probably silence him through intimidation or death. But now, the boy can get citizenship, and start a new life at this stage of his life. In the UK or USA and other places like that, they are medical practices that need to be practiced and adhered to. He could have gotten a donor there in the UK, but he probably told the advising doctor, don't worry, I can get someone to you for the surgery quickly. You know confidently arrogant, and acting like a demigod, just like the rest of those incompetent leaders. I thank God for places of hope like the USA and UK. Places that are ready to bet on anyone that is hopeful, whether rich or poor, strong or weak, woman or man. God bless the UK for giving this boy a chance, while also keeping Ekweremadu's daughter alive. |

Blazebond:You are actually the clone if you think a street hustler offered 270k/4.5 million for kidney sale is not exploitation and corruption. You guys are so used to corruption that you love your chains. How many people know what kidney is, or you think that hearing the mention of name always amounts to knowledge. Does he know the function of the kidney in the human body? Most people don't know even though they hear the word often. Does he know the medical implication of the living with only one kidney?... Let's say he knows, does he look like someone who can finance the after health challenge that will Emanate from the transplant, even with 4.5 million naira, let alone only being offered just 270k from the money? Does the doctor look like someone who properly educate the lad of the procedure, else he wouldn't have manipulated the boy into receiving 270k naira? What so ever angle you want to look it from, the boy was being exploited, and we usually witness it in this country, but I guess you are used to such abysmal lifestyle that you now sympathise with your oppressors. Rubbish. |

softwareman:I got no issue with ekweremmadu trying to save his daughter every father will do same . The process which he took is the issue we talking about . Like I commented before his doctor played all the card and exploited them all. Ekweremmadu crime is paying for someone for kidney donor which is a crime in the country he did it . |

1Sharon:many of you like the young man in the case don't know what a kidney is. You only hear of the word because it is mentioned often, but do you know its function, its shape, its position, and implication of one or more getting damaged? That is what amounts to knowledge, not just hearing of the word "kidney". |

ivolt:You actually lack the ability to think deeply if you think that paying 1000 naira for a job of 10,000naira out of the naiveness of the victim is not slavery. But you abused the foreigners of overworking and abusing Nigerians in their industry and giving them monthly peasant sum, of enslaving Nigerians. Again, you lack the ability to properly critique. Most Nigerians are, the reason we are still at this level as a nation. |

obembet:To a Nigerian politician that guy's life is not worth as much as the life of his daughter. In the words of the sentencing judge - Mr Justice Johnson, the removal of a kidney amounts to serious physical harm. The donor in question would have faced the risk of early onset high blood pressure, and developing chronic kidney disease later in life as well as a lifetime risk of requiring dialysis himself or even a kidney transplant. |
