Good day conner44 and men wey sabi. I use an Honda accord 07. I barely top my coolant in months, but for the past 2 -3 three weeks, I observed that the coolant in the radiator dries off quickly and I have to top up everyday. There has been no issue of overheating even when I notice that there's no water in the radiator. There's no visible leakage from the radiator nor radiator cap, pleasE what could be wrong

Good day OP please help!!

The under of my Accord 05 was always wet, so I went to change oil seal yesterday. Asides this, I was driving ok. Although it was smoking a little, not too noticeable.

After the mechanic was done changing the seal, there was a loud screeching sound coming from the alternator axis. After a while it stopped, the guy then said my engine was too high. He did some adjustments.

Now, the rpm is less than 1000, it's at 500. The car is vibrating and jerking as if it wants to stop. In fact on the way home, the car went off.

It is now smoking heavily!!! Thick black smoke coming out. The silencer area is now black with soot. I notice the exhaust is coming out with a lot of force now even when in P.

And worse, it guzzled the entire fuel. To illustrate, it took N2,000 fuel from Egbeda to Mangoro!!!

Somebody please help with knowledgeable suggestions I'm distressed right now. I mean, nothing serious was wrong with the car, I only went for oil seal change!

Egbeda to mangoro is how many kilometres? Is there hold up on the road?, 2k fuel is like 10ltrs and that should take you up to 80 kilometres or more depending

Top of the day to my lovely honda family... please I have an issue with my 2006 honda civic, it has confused both my mechanic and rewire but i haven't allowed them to do anything about it so as not to trigger more problems.

My car slips everytime it wants to change from any gear, most especially when I put more pressure on it. It now drives like a manual car.

My rewire did some checks and we noticed that light is not supplying to one of the gear solenoids. (He said it's the brain box that supplies the light so the brainbox is faulty). Out of four sockets that connects to the solenoids, a particular one doesn't have light..

I'm confused if I'm to agree with him to get a new brain box..

Same thing with my eod, after I have spent money on buying sensor, changing transmission oil etc, las las it result to changing brainbox, I will advise you to just change the brainbox, if not, you will spend unnecessary money.

Hello all,

i drive a. 2k5 honda accord, ii αve a problem.

While i'm driving i notice dat after i slow down or wen i want ϯo re-accelerate sometimes, the engine vibrates (shakes) until i lift my foot off the throttle completely, bt wen i put my foot back on the throttle it moves normally.

i thought it was the spark plugs causing this, but i've changed the 4 plugs with new ones but it still does same.

a mechanic said it's probably from the fuel pump.

Any ideas wat it is

May have tampered with your throttle body.

Which of oil seals did he change?

At the bolded statement above, When you say the coolant dries off in your radiator did you mean the radiator itself or its coolant overflow container?

As you’ve ruled out any possibility of an overheated engine I won’t query the integrity of your gaskets but If your radiator cap is bad and leaking you won’t observe any visible wetness around it because the coolant will immediately vaporize as soon as it leaves the container due to the intense heat in your engine. Same with if you have a tiny leak along one of the fins of your radiator itself.

If you have a check engine light illuminated on your dashboard then I believe it’s time you scanned that vehicle before throwing any more parts at it.

Good day Honda users. I'm using a 2008 Honda Accord for almost 2 years now and the car is burning oil despite using the recommended oil weight which is 5w-20. My question is this. Is there anyone here using the same car and having the same problem that has been able to solve this problem,if yes, then how? My other question is can I keep using the car like that and changing the oil at 3000miles when the maintenance light usually comes up?

From 2008 till this year is 15 years. If your vehicle is now burning the factory recommended 5w20 oil weight and you’re sure that your pcv valve is still good then you have two options:

1. Overhaul the engine by replacing its each of its pistons’ oil control rings

2. Switch to a heavier weight of oil (5w30 - 5w40) and observe how much it burns from there on and continue managing the engine.

Thanks bro. The engine light had been on though it was because oil was low. I topped it and the light disappeared.

Which of oil seals did he change?

Thanks bro. The seal on the engine, rather. The rubber lining that runs round the top of the engine. He changed it and applied gum.

Then he tweaked something that dropped the rpm to 500 because he said the engine was high. Do you think any of these issues is as a direct result of this?

What suggestions can you give in case he had tampered with the throttle body? Thanks man

There’s an oil pressure light (red) and a check engine light (yellow), which of them did you say was on and later went off?

It's a relatively short distance. Used it to illustrate the way the car guzzled fuel. Not as long as 3MB which is about 12km. I'll say about 5 kilometres

That thing your mechanic tweaked was your throttle body. There are three ways he might have messed up it’s settings with his ‘tweak’

1. He opened up the rubber intake hose (engine air filter to throttle body) and jammed the little hole in there that supplies the iacv air with something

2. He has tampered with the ‘screw’ on your throttle body by adjusting it with a screwdriver (in which case you will need a multimeter to reset it)

You should go back to your mechanic and push him to tell you exactly what he did to your throttle body so you can know how to revert it or if to purchase a new one.

OR

3. He has damaged the wiring on your harness that runs from the iacv to your brainbox (an electrician has to check this one out)

Wow

Yes, he adjusted the screw with a screwdriver.

Please what are the terms 'iacv' and the 'harness' called in local parlance?

Thanks a lot man, appreciate the time you put into this

The iacv is the electronic device attached to your throttle body that controls the engine idle rpm’s both with and without load

The harness is the bundle of wires that are mostly joined together and running upandan from one component to another in your engine bay.

Hi guys, i saw this Accord Dc 2006 V6 in excellent condition, Engine, tranny and AC superb, however the catalyst has been tempered with, how will this affect fuel consumption and performance? will it be worth it to purchase the car like this?

Thank you

Catalyst is strictly for emission’s purposes in those years of accords. Driving without a catalyst should not cause any issues for you so far that’s the only thing missing.

Before you change anything you’re supposed to check the entire cooling system components individually.

The radiator itself or its cover could be faulty same as your pipes/hoses which might have also degraded at some points or have subtle leaks at one of its numerous clips/joints.

Do the easy things first. Check along the body of the various coolant hoses for cracks, the various clips/fasteners to see if they have sheared into the rubber pipes/hoses and if all those are fine then you can move your attention towards the radiator cap and the radiator itself.

Hello guys, my Honda EOD as been having issues of fuel cut off while driving slow, if am on speed it works fine but once I slow down or try to climb a bumb it off. I need to start again, most times it starts immediately at times it won't start, I will put on neutral to start , it will start most times.

Have change fuel pump, electrician as check on it and said something about security. Another said I should change fuel relay. This morning it started but when I put to Drive it goes off and refuse to start, ibout in Neutrsl and push a bit and Try to start, it started but in Drive it goes off.

Is it the fuel relay or what.

Luvinhubby conner44 and all the contributors

Thanks for this thread.

The car didn't start this morning.

I went and did small craze for them grin
I displayed for them small to the extent that their oga in the place had to step in and asked someone else to follow me. This other guy came with me home, worked on it till it started and we drove to their workshop

Currently there at their workshop. Although this guy tried to cover the guy's mess up by saying it was just battery, I kept quiet. I wasn't for argument. At least this new guy seem to know what he's doing. All 4 spark plugs were all messed up, this new guy has worked the rpm back. The jerking has stopped and the smoking has reduced. He assures the smoking will stop

I just bought injector cleaner and they still working on it.

Thanks Honda guys on this thread

I use the recommended 5w20, I buy the Mobil 1.

Well, the leak is reduced but I still have to replace the oil switch.

How was your oil the problem? Were you using the recommended oil? What product do you use now?
