Equivalent of Local Government Chairman

Why is an ordinary mayor coming to visit, why don't they send a full fledged governor if the president of the US cannot come?

While it is true that Mayor is equivalent to a Local Government Chairman in Nigeria, the
New York Mayor is more powerful and influential than most US elected officials except just a few like the President, VP, Speaker , some Ministers.

He is more powerful than the vast majority of the 50 Governors.

Simply because of what city he is Mayor of.

If the Mayor endorses any candidate during the primaries of his party, that candidate is likely going to win.

Now if it is the Mayor of a city like Gem Lake near Wisconsin, that one is not even qualified to meet the Special Assistant to the Chairman of Lagos Island Local Government

I remember the times of late David Dinkins and Rudy Giuliani ( former mayors of NYC), he was in this organization he formed back then, "100 Blacks in Law Enforcement ", always on TV protesting then anytime there was a shooting of a black man or some "perceived injustice" to a colored person.
Many waters have passed under the bridge though.

From transit police officer to NYPD to NYS senator to Brooklyn borough president and now Mayor of NYC.

Eric Adams is not on the side of economic development and new investment in Nigeria or New York city. he is more known for pursuing people who have economic growth and development in mind out of New York city and state.
