fabyom:So you are saying a player who trumps the greatest attacking midfielders of all time is not great. Haba. |

TheSuperNerd:Zidane was not even the best in his team in France 98. Delete France 98 and Rest it. |

So your repeated shift to this stance shows you have now accepted that indeed Emmanuel Petit didn't have a better France 98 than Zidane. Good. Now it can rest. TheGoodJoe: |

TheSuperNerd: I don't need to browse France 98. I watched every match. |

TheSuperNerd: I have not and will never accept Zidane was better than Petit in France 98. You are hinging your argument on an article you read. I am hinging mine on watching every game and multiple football analysis shows and watching multiple replays for weeks. Petit was better than Zidane in that tourney. |

But you did browse it only in a bid to talk down on Zidane. Rest it Sir Joe. Your intentions were clear from the beginning. For your info, I also watched most of the games of that WC thanks to my dad's video tapes from his football archives and saw that Petit didn't have as much an impact in France 98 compared to Zidane. Now Rest. TheGoodJoe: |

This is a fat lie. And I have already addressed this lie in my original post. I watched the games as much as you did. Now rest. I knew you would take this route soon enough but I was ready. TheGoodJoe: |

TheSuperNerd:Now you are being hilarious. Petit was key to France success. Don't say that again. Funny man. |

| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 8:54pm On May 10, 2023 |
TheSuperNerd:Impossible. Your dad likely had highlight tapes and can never have the bulk 64 or so matches. By the way read this excerpt from Goal. Petit was the main set piece taker for France. Key in midfield in the final and I am telling you he was consistent in the tournament. Compared to Zidane that missed games.

It is funny ONLY to you because you didn't see that coming. I have said it repeatedly on this thread for years since 2015 that I literally studied and researched games into my past on my own as a kid. My dad (now late) kept loads of football archive tapes and I devoured them all. The thing is you are stubborn in your stance even when wrong. Petit didn't have a better France 98 than Zidane. That is on period. Even your selective browsings showed that much. You only stand by this fallacy because you hold the Blasphemous agenda of KDB standing better than Zidane in the middle game. Please which is more hilarious? You saying KDB is better than Zidane in the middle game definitely attracts laughter. You even had to browse to look for more put-him-down angles on Zidane. You should Fear the God you say we should all fear. 😂 TheGoodJoe: |

TheSuperNerd:From day 1 I have used effective and still using effective. There is a reason why I used effective. Kevin De Bruyne is a more effective player than Zidane due to his interpretation of the game. By the way, Check this. https://m.footballdatabase.eu/en/competition/overall/6784-coupe_du_monde/1998

What I really don't understand with humans is why they will argue blindly on something they have literally no idea about. Where you with my dad to know what tapes he had? Tapes on Brazil, France, Morocco and even Nigeria at France 98 were all in his archives. They were all spread across different tapes and not in one. Please... don't insult the memory of my dad. Most of the football I know is thanks to him. Now rest it before your blind stubbornness make you make more unsound comments TheGoodJoe: |

Joe. Rest it. I know you too well. You will argue that you have your pants on even if caught without it. Rest. I have said enough. TheGoodJoe: |

I absolutely agree. But that is why I had to point out the gap between our level of Clinicality and Senegal's. Those Teranga boys are surely ruthless. I hope we get past the Burkinabe challenge tomorrow coz I would really want to see how Senegal vs Nigeria would pan out. A team that finishes her couple of chances vs A team that creates loads of chances. Would be a super interesting game, potentially. do4luv14: |

TheSuperNerd: I did not insult the memory of my dad. I said, you can't have watched France 98 more than me. It is just impossible. You can have some key matches. You can have quality highlight tapes. They don't make them today like before. But can't have watched it like me. I lived and breathed that tournament. |

By the way, my best player of France 98 was no other than Ariel Ortega. He was just amazing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5WHD5jg-pCA |

elyte89:Wow. Sukur. Hakan Sukur. He was good. I think Klinsmann gets forgotten. Batistuta, Christian Vieri. Frank De Boer was very underrated too, but was the brain box along Cocu in that tournament. Drum roll. My eye test top 10 France 98.. 1. Ronaldo De Lima 2. Davor Suker 3. Klinsmann 4. Christian Vieri 5. Thuram 6. Marcel Desailly 7. Ariel Ortega 8. Emmanuel Petit 9. Frank De Boer 10. Ronald De Boer (His repeated skinning of Roberto Carlos need to be studied and broken down in a book). |
