Its simple logic na, most of materials in space is as old as the earth. It is common knowledge in astronomy that not even the youngest star and planet formation is not hundreds of millions years old not to talk well formed rock which more likely formed during the formation of the solar system, so it is a rough guess but it can be well above what they are saying.
