Nobody’s mentioned Riquelme tho. Seems he is not rated.

He was good for argentina and in Spain but we are talking about the best midfielders in this 21st century where we'll have to factor season consistency, team trophies, international performances, individual awards and impact on the teams they played for.

Omo, some Dutch guys supposed enter this list o. I no see the Germans too. Kilode?

In this 21st century, it'd be Seedorf for tje Dutch... I don't rate him that highly... For the Germans it's definitely Kross and Ozil....A case can also be made for Schweintegier and Ballack

Michael Essien
Muda Lawal
Sunday Oliseh
Abedi Pele
Austin Okocha
Yaya Toure
Papa Bouba Diop
Seydiu Keita
Theophile Abega
Aboutrika

In no particular order.

Modified: I forgot Mikel Obi.

Is this an African Top 10 midfield greats?

U17 Afcon Update

Mali demolishing Congo 3-0. A side Senegal struggled to beat 1-0. This Malian side is the only side that beat Senegal from the Qualifiers up until to this tournament.

Senegal are favourites but so also is Mali.

Mali will face Morocco and I am tipping them to overcome the Moroccans in the Semis.

It takes a whole lot to be counted as one of the best. The KDB we're talking about here, what are the personal recognitions he has won in recent times both at club and the national team? What of his performance for his country? These are the criteria IMO.
Scholes and Lampard are his only mates in this list. TBH, I didn't watch much of scholes so I can't really say who is better. As for Lampard, both are on par IMO.

Personally,I rate KDB very highly...he is ome player I wish we had in our team...But he doesn't really look like the kind of player that influence the success of bis team such that he is indispensable..I mean even in that Man City team,if he isn't available they can do just fine with Gudogan, Bernardo, Rodri...
Anyway, when he eventually retires, his name will surely be mentioned among the greats...

You don’t need to be on zidane or iniesta level before you are being considered great

Just take a look at you trying to downplay kdb greatness with the likes of Leeds and wolves ,let’s all pretend that he isn’t performing well against big teams

You need luck with national team
Nobody is downplaying KDB. You didn't follow the argument from the beginning. Comparing Zidane with KDB was the origin of this argument.
KDB is good, very good. one of the most intelligent midfielders in the world. But he has not done anything to be rated alongside the like of Zidane, Iniesta, Xavi and Ronnie.
I agree you need luck with the national team. Infact, not the national team alone. But then luck or not, your impact should be visible which can't be said of KDB. Argentina lost 3 Copa America finals but everybody was aware of his impact.

Mali is so badass that they conceeded a late penalty vs Congo and still didn't concede thanks to their GK's top save.

3-0 it stays. Mali still yet to concede at this tournament. They are even more disciplined team than the Senegalese. Watch out for them.

KDB plays almost like a second striker or winger most times and though I hail him for his versatility, eye for the final pass and goslscoring. I personally find it hard to rate him above a zidane, xavi or modric that can take a hot game and craft it to their own purpose. KDB also played with the best Belgium golden generation so far but I can't compare it to what a legend like modric did with a smaller croatia.

I just hope Ugbade plays it cool from the start instead of his usual panicky starts. Possession football is what brings out the beauty of that team.

I strongly believe debryune is not among the set of players you will say has not done anything to be rated.

Abubakar Abdullahi with thunderbolt strike from outside the box but it brushes the crossbar. Lad is on a mission today.

We have been the more threatening of the two sides.
