I hope this serves as a lesson to Nigerian politicians to always develop their communities.

Imagine if Ekweremmadu had developed a world class health center in his constituency, the story would have been different.

That boy that reported him is also wicked! He accepted the deal now he is there begging for asylum and we all know the white men will grant him. Ekwere would have easily seek for someone like me to sell my kidnap without problem. Atleast make I use the money enjoy the remaining part of my life

That's why some big men don't help people!

Guy go and sit down. Most people just rush to show their ignorance. Ekweremadu lie to the UK government that the boy was his daughter cousin. Again it is a crime to donate your kidney when money is involve. Meaning it was supposed to be free. And lastly Ekweremadu did not not provide after care for the boy which is the most important one. Removing the boy kidney means the boy will be doing diagnosing every year through out is life time. Trust me Ekweremadu did not tell that boy that part. As if did boy the boy kidney was remove it was just a matter of time before the boy would have died. Because he won't be able to afford the after care plan all through out his life
If you're not just another idiot and read my comment well, you would have seen your answer there.

How much do you think Sonia is worth now that she's suffering the kidney ailment? Can you possibly sell for more than the buyer is worth? In the face of some real health problems, even money cant buy good health or enjoyment. Pls be a deep thinker grin

I really wish him well.
But we need to learn as a society to stop exploiting the vulnerable and the poor. Even though the poor also exploit each other.
Somehow, I think ignorance may have contributed to his predicament. What didn't seme like a big deal, that he thinks money would solves easily, is actually a big deal in other countries where the law works.
Ignorance of the law is however not a tenable excuse
I hope he keeps doing what's he's doing, be an exemplary prisoner and contribute to the development of other prisoners. He will be out in 4 to 5 years

Nonsense. He has no choice than to humble himself. He has no preferential treatment in prison. The prison officers decide when he will sleep, when he wakes up, what he eat, when to come out of his room. His toilet is in the same room he eats with his room mate looking at his balls. So he is reduced to nothing. If he fumble he will.be bang up for 24 hrs without see the sun.

Biodun556:
The process violated UK law:

1. The donor must not be vulnerable.

The boy is extremely poor

2. There must not be reward for kidney donation.

Ekweremadu gave 4.5 million naira to buy the boy's kidney. The doctor he sent gave the boys 270,000 naira.

3. Ekweremadu did not and was not willing to meet the boy personally. Which means he was just interested in his kidney and does not care what happens to him after donating his kidney

4. He did not make any provision for the boy at all except the 4.5 million naira he gave the medical doctor

All these and more oppose UK law
am not holding fort for Ekweremadu, but he is a busy politician, very plausible he never met the boy, nothing wrong with that, nothing wrong in him contracting a doctor to get him a donor for his daughter for heavens sake he is not a medical doctor hence he can't know who can be of a match to the "man" let's stop calling someone going to his 30s a boy please, I honestly see nothing wrong in what he did, it could have happened to any concern father, only thing I found wrong in the whole story is seizing the boy passport,if that is true tho.

I just feel for them, especially his daughter who will be plagued with the guilt of bringing all this upon her parents. The fall from grace to grass was just too much.

Brother what part of “it is illegal to exchange human parts for money in the UK” don’t you understand??

Passport change of heart bulabala is not the issue here. As soon is as it was established that The Distinguished Senator tried to *buy* the poor hawkers kidney for 5 million bucks, that was the end of that!

He could have gone to another country where such things are not frowned upon, but he was trying to form posh while using a cheap style. “Only the best for my darling daughter” but you can’t even bother to check if the boy had received the correct amount. Rubbish.

I can’t believe a whole lawyer can be as ridiculous as this. If you’re going to do something like this, why not plan very well rather than embarrassing yourself
buying human organ is frown on anywhere in the world for even transplant, but still getting a "willing" donor is the work of the doctor, not the Ekweremadus, how they get donors is usually left for them to handle plus they don't do it for free, even in the case of a free donor, they still charge money for it, but like you rightly said if he personally or indirectly approach the boy and paid money for his organ, then he has no case.
My point is with a very good lawyer in am Appeal Ekweremadus might be freed even in the UK, it all depends on how the lawyer present his or her case, no matter how air tight or confession they might have got from him... With a good lawyer he might get out, the Doctor is the real culprit here, imagine the hungry doctor collecting just 5 million naira from a Nigerian Ex Deputy senate President, who is still a senator, and giving just 650k to the donor, the doctor should be hanged.

he has no case for appeal, case closed.

He is an organizer of organ harvesting.
so you mean they don't have appeal courts in the UK?

Love of parents knows no bound. As much as I don't support his deed, he shows that he is a good parent. U can judge him until you find yourself in same position, and see ur beloved child die without doing anything. Then you can be called the Saint.
