With Tinubu in Charge, Massive Prosperity is for Sure........Don't Worry President Tinubu Will Fix That.
It is ignoramuses and gullible citizens with warped mentality like yours that have kept Nigeria moving backward.

This latter is the real reason why governors indulge in white elephant absurdities with impunity - the so-called "resource curse".

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resource_curse

Most states (with the exception of a handful) depend almost entirely on "federal allocations" rather than taxation for their revenues. As such, there is little incentive for their citizens to feel any personal stake in how said revenues are spent. If governors decide to squander most of their allocations on airports nobody will use, or religious buildings that do nothing to provide healthcare and clean water, nobody feels "it's my money being wasted", especially if whatever is left over is spent on paying salaries to

a
bloated state bureaucracy that does little of use. Instead of feeling anger, people hail such governors as "working".

If state-funding were changed to a matching grant system, with the FG's grants matching state IGR on a 1-for-1 basis (rather than flat federal allocations based on population and land area), there would be a radical turnaround in attitudes, as suddenly most people would see the direct connection between the taxes they pay and the spending of their governors. However, I am doubtful this will ever happen, as the overwhelming majority of states simply aren't viable under their current setups.

Take away most of those "federal allocations" derived from oil money from the SS and tax revenue from the Lagos ports, and the state count would have to collapse back to no more than, say, 9 at the very most. But everybody wants "our pikin" to have a governor's mansion and ride around in a big convoy while handing out pretend-jobs to "our kinsmen", even if that means the quality of governance they get remains abysmal.
Bolded; the phenomenon of federal allocations and undue political representation are reasons why states, mostly non viable, were proliferated in the far north region of Nigeria by northern soldiers through unjust use of either land mass or population figures as yardstick.

The number of civil servants earning monthly salaries from the government of one Nigerian state may outnumber the number of civil servants earning salaries from one big country in Europe.

Federal allocations derived from proceeds from crude oil and gas deposits in the Niger Delta region, and from Lagos ports, are the reasons the far northern region of Nigeria continues to clutch tight to the extant lopsided political structure and most dysfunctional governance system created by northern soldiers.

The structure is quite beautiful. I went there to have close look. That Ecumenical Center will need security checks to go in, otherwise people will abandone their churches just go to in there. Julius Berger is doing a great job with the construction. All concrete mix.

No expense should be spared in getting those signature structures in the land that feeds Nigeria through her Wealth.
look at this one, soon he will be blaming tinubu for his problems

You can't take away the place of religion in a society even Western and Eastern European civilization know this. There is absolutely nothing wrong with building a place of worship for a people of faith. Nothing!

Visit Germany and see the number of churches there. Most of them are now UNESCO world heritage sites preserved for their magnificent history from medieval times. They are now raking in millions of euros and millions of tourists every year for the cities they're located in, like in Cologne.
You people must always defend nonsense. The government has no place in building expensive places of worship, especially in a country with lots of needs. Leave it to worshippers to fund those. Those UNESCO world heritage sites were built 100s of years ago when church & state were mixed and have a lot of history. A common theme of modern democracy is keeping religion away from government, otherwise you have something like an Iran. We have a better shot at tourism with non-religious infrastructure that generates revenue.

Nigérian politicians need to understand that religion can rarely reduce crimes in the society, but we can achieve that by lifting people out of poverty.

If we focus on religion and the reality doesn't allow people to practice what they learn in church and mosque, it becomes a total waste of time.
you really think politicians care about crime?
