jaybenugo: From.the application...it is. like the police are bent on preempting the court order or wanting to be in control of the judgment .which is too bad for the police commission's image and the justice system. We know that in video evidence seen on social media that there was an assault and also for the assault to occur, there was a trigger from the police officer involved... police are demonstrating a non-professional approach to the whole issue.... because they pray the court to grant them detention of the accused..person...now, my question is, according to the criminal code...quoted....is the offenses bailable? If yes....they should press for the offense he committed and leave personal vendetta out of this matter......to be, this is tantamount to victimization in itself...and this can also lead to total disrepute of the issue they intend to protect..... We know how it works I'm Lagos State....and we know that the commissioner of Lagos State is also aware of the case...We are using this medium to call.on the commissioner of police in.Lagos state and all the top echelon police officers that might be involved in the process to pursue justice in this case instead of personal vendetta or victimization........ |

[quote author=Jostoman post=123174172]then why are they seeking a court order to remand him for 21days again. The truth is that the Nigerian police is taking his matter personal. They want his case to serve as deterrent to anyone planning to assault the police .The police is using the instrument of law to pursue their case . .is now left for seun lawyer to counter there demand..This is not a criminal case ....I don't think the court will grant police such order except they are working together to punish him .. Let me ask you if seun is not a celeb by now his face would have been panel beated beyond recognition ..He should ve grateful he is a celeb...blessing ceo was detained for more than 21 days ..so if the court grant police order ...seun should be there to serve as deterrent...God forbid the policeofficer retaliated and shot him ..another end sars would ve started...so allow him cool off in cell pending when him go get sense |

DoxxAnon:We know you guys asking for jail are the Obimumu supporters looking for way to revenge. Take it easy, he did not commit rape, he did not kidnap someone. he only slapped someone out of annoyance. By law, let him face the court. he can never be jail more than 2 months and this will still come with a fine option. |
Re: Police Arraign Seun Kuti In Court, Seek Order To Remand Him For 21 Days by cedricksly: 6:17pm On May 16, 2023 |
Slurity:they are well aware of the law not to detain him more than 48hours, hence why they approached a court of law to extend it. It is left for the judge to use her discretion.... How is that against the law? Coz it is, still under 48hours |
